Today’s post reminded me of all of the photos I’ve taken of women wearing backless dresses. Looking at the photos you can really feel the heat of summer!

any thoughts on how such a look can be accomplished for larger chested girls? i love dresses with cut out or low-cut backs but i don’t know how i could possibly pull them off. i know there’s been a trend of neon bandeau bras and the like on display under a racer-back tee etc., but that seems so tacky, especially on a nice dress.. solutions?

Exactly! I don’t think it works. I think a bit low back is allright but if you want to go totally bare back, I don’t think it will look good on a bigger woman. In general I think a slightly open back i s fine, but not showing it all. I.e I don’t find the first picture alluring at all, looks like she forgot her blouse, or maybe its from a dressing room. This is not for everyone. I don’t like bras to be shown either, looks tacky except if you are a singer in a band, or a really young model.

Backless is one of the few good looks exclusively made for those of us with little-t0-no-boobs. Ladies with a chest, you have a million and one other amazing options that don’t quite work for us boobless girls.

Many moons ago.. when I was very YOUNG there was a Peter Sellers movie and where an actress was wearing a backless dress. I thought the back is far sexier than the bust. Thank you for acknowledging the “Back”!

I must say that there is nothing more sensual and beautiful than a woman’s back. This reminds me of my NYU days, walking around the Village or SoHo in the summer, and this boy delighted to so many lovely backless dresses — he was in heaven. 30 years later, the enchantment of these still intoxicates.

I love the color black it goes down well with any event and you can style it whichever way you want for it to suit what you want. The open backs do catch the eyes of many, they are good to the eye.

Black is really beautiful especially when it comes to dresses. It becomes refreshing to the eyes with backless styles.

Love the Backless dresses ; I just bought myself a really nice grey long fitted to the body Backlessdress but I always wonder; even with my small B-cup I dont really feel comfortable parading without a bra…..is it me and do I need to get used to it???

What I love about the top photo here, by the steps, is, well, obviously the back, but the way you framed it and the black shoe sticking out and also that we can see the outlines of a white t-shirt on a very lucky guy.
