The fact that he is a handsome man doesn’t make up for the fact that these are the sort of clothes my dad would wear!

The jacket doesn’t appeal to me… it’s given Mr Tonchi’s photo a strange saddlebag effect.

What a casual outfit.He looks very comfortable in it.The suede jacket is fine with his pants.The only thing I would change is the color of the pants.This shade of beige is not my favorites.I would have selected lighter.But this only my personal opinion.A good thing that he has decent,polished shoes.

Light weight suede jackets define elegance.

Very suave. This is the sort of look I adopt when I’m going casual. Suede bomber (G9?), flat front khakis, loafers, casual shirt, sunglasses. This guy has a great haircut, BTW. Very well done.

Ok, love the outfit, but… those shadows are absolutely perfect!

Nice clean classic look. Reminds me of the reminds me of the strong male movie stars of the 50′s and 60′s with a hint of euro thrown in. MAkes me think Rock Hudson.

I like the cut of his pants. More often than not, Khakis are found in baggy or unflattering cuts. But here he has a pair that is done right.

I take the point about subtlety but think the kangaroo pouchiness at the belly is kinda the keynote of dull clothes. The real reason the picture draws us in is the haircut and sunglasses. So Marcello 1960.

I’m absolutely a fan of how subtle this ensemble suits him. The colours, the texutres… Don’t get me wrong, I’ve just been a maximalist lately.

Subtlety, indeed. The blouson-style jacket-Valstar, I think-has a rich heritage beginning back in WWII. Also, the Wayfarer frames and slightly pegged trousers all harken back to the 1950’s. In a way, Mr. Tonchi’s “ensemble” is a stealthy tribute to that era of classic men’s fashion, a time when military uniforms seeped into everyday wear.

The jacket buttoned only above the bottom button (the way one would button a vest under a suit), the shirt opened to the fourth button (a choice which is scoffed at in America but is quite accepted in Italy) and that necklace adds even more flair. I whish I could see the shoes (are those two tone, or is it just the sunlight which creates this illusion?). Of course, what Italian man does own a pair of RAI(thats how they say it, “rai”) BAN. I really enjoyed the past winter shots of this man (absolutely devastating coat collection for this one!).

The suede bomber jacket, tortoise wayfarers, what looked like brushed cotton khakis – the ‘look’ is in fact happening all over. A very well executed casual look, evocative of 1050′s Hollywood style.

reminds me of how tim told me when we first started dating “i’ll never wear brown”, and i laughed in that kind of maniacal way cartoon characters do when they are about to hatch an evil plan, and then they do.

he wears brown now. oh yes he does.

For all of the comments about this man’s “casual” look, I’d say he needs to loosen up a little. The crease in his trousers & the shine on his shoes, specifically, broadcast an elitist posture.

Is he a stealth sartorialist? Looks a bit like your dad on first sight but then more analysis reveals more and more….?

And yes I think the other poster is bang on when he/she notes the influence of military style here…

When I look at this shot I get the feeling that this is a look that just didn’t quite make it. Just a little straight and safe.

Fabulous. This is a wonderful example of the man wearing the clothes rather than the clothes wearing the man. He’s also incredibly handsome.
