I don’t know why, but my first reaction, to the first image was that the jacket looks like digital clothing over-layed onto the model! It gives a very flat feel. The pants look more dimensional. I like the sandals!
Michael; never follow so-called “rules”, create them yourself.
The collection was neither stand out-ish or boring but it did leave me feeling like Miuccia has presented better in the past. I can appreciate the contrasting stitching and the matched outfits between the male and female models but there was something about the slightly retro shapes that was a bit meh. Having said that; there were looks in the collection that were cinematic and reminiscent of perfect Italian summer clothing from years back. Perhaps that’s Miuccia’s goal? To remind us of Summers past.
Be wary of following rules – that’s the road to being fashionable, being stylish is better, there’s a big difference. Make up your own rules that suit you! There are no gods in fashion, just designers.
