Michael Kors is truly the King of American Sportswear! That last dress is GORGEOUS. Not to mention the sandals she's wearing. And the ease of the first look is something I want to get into right now!
I LOVE THIS!! Texture, interesting fabrics, great knits, flattering silhouettes and a clear way to translate the runway to off-the-rack pieces and real people. I love the sandals in the bottom picture, the over-sized bag and most of the clothing. Compare this to the Prada collection below. I know which I'd rather be wearing.
My only beef is the socks with leather platform sandals. Please leave that look to the Germans. They're comfortable with it. The rest of us…not so much.
At it's finest? I think that word means something different. Kors has been presenting this style of clothing for so long, it's almost classic but it lacks something, who knows but one thing is sure, if he is king of american sportsware, it's a rather impoverished kingdom.
Looks like neutral shades are continuting through SS11 too – love it! My fave is the rugged look taupe light-knit sweater, I could happily live in that all year round!
The swimsuit is gorgeous, though I don't think anyone would actually "dive in" with the belt on, LOL! Wrap a complimentary-colored sarong around the waist and it could also be a chic dress. Beautiful!
This man is amazing.. I get fooled by his public persona, but at heart, he– or whoever he has working for him– really understands the American persona. The first look is so beautiful and SO relaxed: everything is "covered" but you can still see the beauty and the motion of the body underneath. So sexy, so timeless. Warm, healthy skins, beautiful yet neutral colors, sportswear with motion and purpose… Love!!!
Love EVERYTHING but the belted bathing suit. Who the hell is gonna play in the surf wearing a 3" wide, double pronged leather belt? NOT ME! But I'd totally rock that first white ensemble.
Not really a Kors fan, but the second look captures a moment/feeling perfectly–the combination of sweater, earthy tones, bare legs, and heavy socks & shoes is absolutely right for that very-end-of-summer moment. Nicely done.
absolutely LOVE that last look… the dress and those sandals! I just bought a new Michael Kors watch today… tortoise shell band and a huge face. it's so classic… I just love his design
I love Michael Kors, but this collection just doesn't work for me. It's very much his style, but I miss the structured sophistication of his previous collections. This collection is too relaxed.
I love them all–I like the feeling they give of being earthed. The only feature I have trouble understanding is the belt with the swimmers. The 80s had this look appear often–it used to pop up with gym gear also.
see, the thing is, the mk stuff is the stuff you will wear and wear and wear. someone in the comments posted that it is lacking something…i disagree. I feel like every woman can wear mk, and yet every woman wears him differently. not just by accesories, although his clothing lays a beautiful foundation for accesories, but also because a woman's individuality gets to shine through the clothing. The clothing fits her life, she does not conform herself to the clothing. It is no mean feat to design such things…and he does this at some great price points, too!
The best looks yet I've seen from the cat walks…beautiful, wearable clothes! These are designs a woman wears/ not designs that wear the woman. Very, very nice.
I didn't see much effort put into this collection. I don't get why everyone is saying it is perfect or it is excellent. You all can disagree with me, but that is my opinion. This collection is lacking so much creativity, I think Kors put this boring collection out simply because he can and will still have people drooling over it. I don't see the need for wrinkled shirts and boring bathing suits. If you really look closely in that bathing suit – without the belt, it will just be a plain boring bathing suit.
its hard to see the clothes for the thinness of these girls. Their frame really destracts and worries me. That lone swimsuit model looks amazing and makes the clothes look amazing. maybe she's smiling because she can eat and still work.
Oh Mr. Kors, you are the best. All of these shots are incredible, all designs are too. But the first, all white and the brown bathing suit made me cry with their beauty.
I love, love, love Michael Kors. If I had the money, I would wear his clothes, shoes, handbags, and sunglasses every single day. I would wear that first outfit in a NY minute.
although mr. kors presents the epitome of american dressing, the first and fourth look remind me of agnès b. in the mid to late 80's … oh how i loved everything she did.
All but the last look are pretty boring…especially the white cashmere sweater with no bra! Makes her boobs look terrible, that's a fashion crime! Even for preppy sportswear, Kors has never thrilled me–it all looks like Old Navy to me.
