Thanks for this post. So many women try to dress too young for their age & look ridiculous. She is proof that you can be, stylish, cool and yet still age appropriate.
The woman's outfit absolutely typifies milanese style (in my humble view)… simple yet attention-grabbing: different neutrals (dark beige-taupe coat, grey shoes), different textures (smooth coat, suede shoes), with a PUNCH of brilliant colour (the perfect red in the dress – and matching lips). Add some fantastic matching warm-toned jewellery and poof… you have an effortless yet powerful style. I miss Milano, definitely… :)
How did you manage to catch those curves, I mean : the 2 poses in 2 opposite curves ? The whole composition of the photo is amazing. And the colors are too : black / grey / very bright red = perfection. It's a very graphic photo (the dots in the background !).
the shoes!!! and the orange lips! I don't think a younger woman could have pulled off this level of chic with quite the same combination of off-handedness and sophistication….
I got a feeling of a story behind that picture… I mean in my head I started creating as I noticed all the details… Beautiful contrast of red and beige.
Love to see wonderfl shoes with NO platform, an abominy we never get out of these days! Being italian, for once I have a question: can someone discover whose shoes are those? I'll run to buy them!
I really like her coat and her shoes. The colour of the dress is so classic. And the bangles just fit in. The shoes of the man look cool, I like that picture a lot because I had the thought the two were talking to each other and suddenly saw something unexpected.
hate the white sneakers on the man. love the woman. i'd kill for that coat. perfectly matched with the amazing colour of the dress, her tanned skin, her hair and the golden jewellry. stunning!
The grey heels are perfect. Great shot simply because you capture two professionals trying to be natural when they are really uptight and insecure. The clenched jaw and the obsessively rolled up sleeves are a dead giveaway. Compare it with any photo of Giovana and tell me if I am wrong.
Photography is in the truth.. and you have captured that once again.
Booyah to the red! Don't you just love a muted cover with brilliant color peaking out?! Yes. Also, suede, t-straps?…my fetish hairs are tingling on the back of my neck. I am still pondering the sneaker/suit look…call me old school.
Pale…neutral colours that remind you the desert or the city ciment and…coral…like sunshine on her lips and the matching dress! Very powerful, estivo, solare…like a ray of sunshine in the city!Is this what they are looking at?
it's the proportions of her jewelry that do it for me, particularly the long, simple earrings and really short necklace. perfect way to be classic but interesting. and I love gold, and the color of her shoes, and that red against the neutrals, and her hair, and her makeup…basically one of my favorite-ever and most personally wardrobe-inspiring outfits you've posted here.
This photo really excites me! The Woman in this photo is a perfect compliment to the cool slate flooring and the coushin-like cement walls. What a gorgeous photo!
Every time I look at your pict I'm like… Wow dunno what to say… And I always end up saying the most simple thing: Your pictures look great and and make me want to travel more!
What a fantastic shot! The turning of the heads and that orangey-red standing out from all the neutrals.
Fashion wise I hate those white shoes on the man…tennis shoes with suits just look so stupid. Saying that the photo with the man in the orange linen blazer wearing white sneakers; somehow that works! He looks like a character who survived being murdered in an Agatha Christie novel and lived to tell the tale.
Sexy tanned skin, a glorious shade of red, and neutral accessories – lovely grooming – this woman has real style! I may add a harmonious backdrop – and I am enjoying the vast range of perceptive prior comments from your readers… Love your blog!
One of my favorite Sartorialist shot's ever, she's gorgeous and gorgeously dressed, but the composition of the photograph is excellent as well- everything is working so well together.
I look at her and think "sexy" "confident" and "comfortable in her own skin" I'm betting she looks this pulled together no matter where she is going. ADORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally LOVE this look! This is the kind of effortless, confident vibe I like to try to achieve, however, I fear I seldom pull it off quite as well as this!
