Oh gosh, she looks so great. Her tanned skin with the white pants suit, her big blue eyes, her hair cut and those shoes are amazing. I also love the fact she is not feeling the need to wear lip colour and toe polish. The natural feel this portrays along with the flattering white and black is so subtly alluring and sexy.
She is amazing.. At first I thought the heels are amazing but stark. On second time, I think they balance the outfit and they have a nice heel cleavage.. It would also be great if we could see what she is wearing underneath the jacket.. It would be an extra topping if it was a waistcoat..
The outfit is lovely. The woman is beautiful, but the dyed hair and eyebrows and lack of lipstick just look awful. If her hair was white or grey and she put on some bright red lipstick she'd look perfect.
Love the outfit, but I cannot help but think that she spent entirely too much time in the sun when she was younger without protection. Her face is so leathery, I'm sure she is actually younger than the wrinkles make her seem.
I learn everyday. From this photo I take away how to do chic white with black shoes…and how to keep it clean! I've never thought of this. The commitment that goes into keeping this outfit clean is humbling. I salute her style and that you can see her age – it's so nice to see an older woman, it's mostly older guys you post. More please xxx
A little less sun, a lighter touch on the painted on eyebrows and this woman would be perfection. I love her hair, and a kohl-rimmed eye always creates drama. She takes care of herself from head to toe without being a fashion victim. When I move to Italy, I'm cutting off all of my curly hair. This photo makes me want to run to my hair stylist right now. Bella!
Pas assez de femmes de 40/50 ans sur ce blog, alors qu'il y a souvent des hommes d'âge mur. Une très belle femme avec des chaussures que je n'oserai jamais porter, de peur de ne pas arriver Ă marcher avec…
I'm amused by the absence of "Gasp! tattoo! Why on earth would she want a tattoo somewhere so visible?! What about when she's older and her skin is wrinkly!? It ruins the whole look. What kind of statement is she making?" comments that accompany the younger tattooed subjects of many other photos. Any comments that even mention it here are flattering.
Isn't this the same woman from your Wednesday, July 6,2006 post? She was platinum then and just as gorgeous in all white. And then again in the fall maybe in all black Dries–does she maybe work for Dries? your pictures of her are an inspiration to me.
I love this, her tan is perfect, her white suit is great, and I love her hair, makes me wish I'd gotten a short hair cut for summer. The tattoo looks just right in this context. And for the record, she is not old. Old is 70 folks.
It is interesting that her eyebrows and eyeliner seem to mimic what the straps of her black shoes are doing. I think part of what pulls the composition together is the lines on her shoes, on her eyes, even the smile lines on her cheeks. Lots of movement in them.
At the same time the orange tan and the smokers' wrinkles take away from her beauty.
I love this look. Age and body shape appropriate. Incredibly chic in it's simplicity – white and black. LOVE her hair and her tan. (and the fact that's she's sitting on a little slip of paper to keep her pants clean!)
I believe this one to be about lines. I wore a full white suit for high school graduation, will try to pull the same off for a graduation of a late master's. Thank you for demonstrating hope :D The picture embodies positive emotions only!
I think this is stunning. I'm approaching her age and for my part the tan, hair colour and makeup that she has chosen are a bit harsh. I tend to think a more natural look looks fresher, younger and hipper on women in their 40s and 50s. The hair cut is truly fantastic and slick though and I love the choice of shoes with the pantsuit. Given the tan, I'm wondering if she's Italian (although she looks more German or Dutch to me). Man, do those ladies love to tan…
Yay! Thanks for featuring a woman who's long out of her teens. Though I'm not a fan of her tan, her look is classic, clean, and very beautiful. Even the strong eye (liner and brows) enhances her personal style.
She is absolutley glowing with elegance. A simple but beautiful white suit with sensually architected heels makes her appearance refreshing even in a business environment. But then again, isn't that her raison d'etre? To make the business of fashion work as seamlessly as possible? Wonderful
LOVE that so many Parisian women just don't do Botox and hang in the sun. When I was a little girl growing up in GA, my Mom's friends all looked like this and I thought they were fabulous. Now everyone in America's all pulled and Botoxed… Not cute at all… This woman looks fantastic!!
I love this look! The all white outfit combined with the fact that she even has a white phone just makes this outfit believable. The ant leg on this outfit has to be my favorite part of this look and then the shoes set it all to gorgeousness.
the whole outfit is gorgeous however I don't like the rostissery chicken complexion of her skin. It's so typical Milanese to just roast crackle and pop under the sun. Very unflattering, laughter lines yes, peking duck no.
A sincere thank you for showing women "my age" that look as good as they feel. Whenever I am overwhelmed by youthful cookie cutter looks I turn to your blog and see women like this who make me realize that I am not ready for the departure lounge just yet…
the hair, the suit, the shoes…………gorgeous, elegant, flawless…..love them…..
However, the overall look is somewhat spoiled by the makeup that is a little too excessive and a little too severe……..if she toned it down to a more subtle and less visible level, then it would give her a far softer and more natural look, and do her stunning eyes and smile the justice they deserve
not a fan of the wrist tattoo, either…..but it isnt as much of a detractor as the overdone makeup
