On the contrary Diane, I feel that the pleated skirts are so right for the current time given Givenchy’s obsession for kilts and the general open-mindedness towards a man in a skirt. These ones by AP are shorter and I think they will be better accepted as a style component.
Is Andrea Pompilio the Alexander Wang of men’s fashion? This collection feels right on the money, an up to the moment presentation of layering for the modern man. I loved all the details, the holes, the half socks and the shameless self promotion (AP logo mania for menswear). I want everything from the show and yes I definitely would wear a short pleated skirt over my jeans. KUDOS Andrea!
Regarding the above collection, I think the jackets in the second and fourth shots are fine designs; well cut and well made. The rest i can admire for the unique vision in styling and creating a whole and more individual look, but it’s probably not to my personal taste. I’d like to see these looks applied in the non-catwalk world…
Aside from that, I have just looked at Faces By The Sartorialist. I commend Scott on this project. It appears that there are photographs here that aren’t included in the main blog?
They are very rich and vital; every face is beautiful as we focus on the individuality of each. I am looking forward to seeing the recurring subjects of The Sartorialist with their faces in greater detail, up close as sometimes the best photograph at the time may not allow detail there. I feel inspired from this first look. Thank-you!
