As We Enter Fashion Week…

Fashion Month kicked off this weekend, and it’s like going back to school.

You see the same friends and cliques and assorted personalities, but with new stories to tell since the last time you saw each other.

One of the cliques that I love the most is the unsung army of pit photographers. Like all of the high profile models and editors who slog from one show to another, they do the same but without the recognition and with a 30 lb bag of equipment.

So here’s a little video I did not too long ago with my good friend Camilla Falquez, that serves to shed a little spotlight on the men and women at the end of the catwalk.

This was a great video. I love the joke at the end were he learned about from the other guy cuz he was older. LOL

What kinda threw me through the loop was that girl with the pocket camera sitting in the pit. What she seriously getting any good shots… or was she someone’s friend? Now i want to see her photos.

    Fun!

I wish there were more women in the mix — perhaps that is the reality, though. Not being of the fashion world I have to rely on you for my information!

I like the “drug” guy. I’d trust him to take my picture.

What a new view to see. We always see the photos of new collections but never stop to think HOW we are able to see them & WHO does it.

It’s so important to understand photography as an art. It’s hard work and not as glamorous as we’d all like to think.

That was very enjoyable, than-you Sart. A feature film could easily be made about photographers at the pret-a-porter shows; it would be fascinating! If anyone hasn’t watched the documentary about the beautiful and talented Bill Cunningham, it is an absolute treasure.
