I think the Andrea Pompilio collection, even though we have seen many of the silhouettes before, has a lot of DETAILS in it that are visual interesting, and it come off as looking Designer. The sewing details, quilting, color ways, etc, all give a refined elegance to these outfits. The looks are ALL wearable, by the fashion forward man, and won’t SCARE the timid man who is AFRAID of style.
I like the play on animals… particularly the zebra with the orange and brown tones playing the monochromatic ones…I just can’t figure what animal is in the last picture
It’s been a while since my last visit to the site and today, voilá! I got these beautiful shots from this amazing show! I loved Andrea’s work, she’s so clever and so up to date, I mean, I guess she is that ‘plus’ men’s wear were needing in the italian fashion industry!
Great pictures Scott, the site is wornderful as usual!
eye catching styling…..some great pieces…#3 is so funny if i met a guy with that hat..gloves neatly tucked..and that scarf i couldn’t keep a straight face/
Mostly I see fabulous examples of style here. Many are not my personal taste, but are aesthetically stunning, nonetheless. This batch of looks struck me as shockingly ugly. Terrible lines, no grace, no movement, horrible proportions. Can’t we do silly and playful without making an entire outfit look awkward? Seems to me aesthetics were compromised here to appear clever and forward. None of these men look good in their clothes. Their clothes are wearing them, and it looks like they got into a fight on the playground. Not hot.
I’m sure a few of the pieces, like the last coat, would look fine in other ensembles (and on people they fit better), but as it stands… good lord, that’s awful.
I HATE the fit of these pants. I am tired to death of low riding, too short pants. The whole nerdy thing is done done done!!!! UGLY I am seeing a return of longer, sleeker cut and thats is a good thing. This needs to go away now.
Those hats are simply ridiculous. I feel like it’s one of those “the emperor is wearing no clothes” moments. I’m all for playful, but many of those outfits just make the men look foolish.
Don’t know about this trend of cartoon animals printed on shirts, sweaters, and coats.
Do men really want to pay top dollar for these things? Won’t deny they have a boyish appeal, but I’d probably leave them on t-shirts that I pick up at the thrift store.
