That is a beautiful picture. Is he Italian? Is there a story?

I saw this at a flea market, I guess we could make up our own story.

He looks like he is asking “Where’s my dam Warsteiner!” (Brand of German Beer)

I think he just came from his weekly Mustache Club meeting. All the men sit around, thoughtfully tugging at the ends of their mustaches, deep in discourse on the subtle nuances of upper lip hair. I have heard a good mustache is hard to cultivate. This man is obviously an artisan in the field of facial hair. A gentleman and a scholar.

So sad that he wanted to be remembered so much that he paid an artist to paint this and then it ended up tossed into a flea market.

This looks very much to me like the father of the Grimbert brothers…of the late and lamented Arnys in Paris.
