Had to mention your Twitter post on my blog (linked back to your blog). Thanks so much for confirming what I thought, Alexander Wang, king of the Fall 2011 collections. So in love with it!! Also with your blog by the way…
I love how the fluffy fabric is becoming silky in that smoothly way. and the cool collages out of big fluffy collars, the straight pockets and elegant bottoms. very interesting!
i saw this streaming live, & it was hard to see some of the details. but, i did notice a 'car' theme, ie: besides the obvious carwash skirts, those mud flaps on the shoes!
Looks incredible! I love his unconventional use of volume – it doesn't look like he was afraid to go big! I also love the greys and mauve and peachy colours….
Your photos somehow make the collection irresistable which wasn't necessarily the case for me, otherwise. Loved the metallic shoes and fur accessories but as far as your assessment of "strongest show of the season thus far," I'd have to disagree. Prabal Gurung nearly put me in cardiac arrest and Jason Wu's show definitely made my heart skip a few beats. And Altuzarra, well, just gorgeousness all around. All shows seen without the benefit of your awesome photography ;) Kindest Regards, Mimi James
Thank you so much for showing (and of course shooting) these fabulous pictures. I love the shaping and cut of Alexander Wang's creations, and his 'compositions' of various fabrics and materials. Fantastic pieces for Autumn. An earlier commentor said she'd watched this show steaming live: Where can I find this? Much thanks, ciao, L. x x
I am a semi-regular of this blog, and my comments can be counted on the fingers of one's hand. However, Alexander Wang forcefully pulls out of me this comment: We see the work of the authentic quality and creativity. This is the stuff great futures are made of!
I looked at Mimi James blog and could see some great stuff at Altuzarra, but not Prabal Gurung (too Gothic), or Jason Wu. Yes, her photos are not very well served by her location/light, but still, Alexander Wong rules!
First piece that I saw from the collection stunned me. I like how the fabrics complement each other, and how the cuts are unique, stylish yet wearable.
