I love it when I see a look that’s perfect from 360 degrees.  This dress from Marni has a great front silhouette, a completely different but equally great back silhouette, and a third, equally interesting silhouette from the side. ![]()

I love the dress! Completely agree with you, looks good every which way. Shoes are nice too, a play of Sofie D’Hoore from a couple seasons ago.

You are right about this being pretty perfect from every angle – love all the movement in the skirt.

One issue with these prints and full skirts: even this barely 100lb model looks like a sofa from behind. Shudder to think what it would look like on a “regular” sized person.

I’d probably like this more if I liked the print, but it’s so…garish–and so badly matched at the rear seam of the skirt.

LOVE this dress although I think you’d need to be a non-curvy figure to do it justice. Interesting that the pants for fall were often very high waisted in collections, yet Marni is going low, 20′s-ish waist for next season’s dress.

I could not agree more, Scott. After having looked at countless runway videos and stills, I find I cannot glean enough information from just the front-looks. I believe 360 is a unique way to view the new clothing lines. Thank you for doing this.

The print, the balloon back and the not so good matching of flowers at the rear seam make this dress look unappealing.

Simply perfection!!!!
And I actually think that this silhouette would and will look good on a fuller figure also. I used to wear dresses like that in 80′s
and I was not size 0.
Love the print and color story also!!!!!
…And the SHOES!!!!!

I agree with a lot of others the dress isn’t doing it for me. Maybe if I liked orange which I don’t. Still I would wear the shoes over the dress any day.

I disagree with your opinion so much I had to comment. Upper front doesn’t fit. In addition, the model looks like Jabba the Hutt with this loose material on each side. From the side? Like she was catching wind. Not seeing extra bump, view from behind is okay.
I like the fabrics, pattern and lenght though.
and the general question now i want to ask seeing many of your photos (and yes, I like your blog). Why designers/bloggers(?) promote clothes that look so ugly even on exceptionally thin women?? Do women have to look strange these days to be noticed?

I like the pattern but I don’t like the way it billows at the back, it would seem ill fitted wearing in everyday life . The dress shape is nice theatrically on the catwalk but not a classic style that one can really adopt.
