I just love this look. The intelligent, bookish look. She’s just lovely! The elegance of simplicity, comfort and … flat shoes! (Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face when she was working at the book store – look)
Hi! I was just curious โ do you have an interpreter (for example, when you’re visiting places where English is not the primary language) with you to ask permission from your subjects before you take their pictures?
Or do you have a slip of paper with the question written on it?
Or do you mime the action of taking a photo with your camera, coupled with a questioning look? ;-)
Great shot. I not only noticed the girl in a coat but also the girl in the right corner -whole creates a great combination of two people of the same age, but wearing in two different styles.
Waow, there really is something about the men’s jacket on women in South Corea. And they know how to do it ! I love this outfit. There’s something about the shirt-dress collar under the men’s wide coat that makes the whole look very feminine, but “femme”, not “fille”. And it always makes me think of Jeanne Moreau in Jules et Jim. Although this woman puts together this look in a very Corean way. And no bag ! Hands on the heart. Love it. I want this coat.
I think that your trip to South Korea has been highly instructive as to dressing for the weather and the adaptation of styles from another era and spot on the planet. The style of these women is what you will see in any New England prep school community: the old fashioned camel hair and tweed coats, sweaters, tights. In fact, New England prep schools are filled with wealthy kids from South Korea. It’s an old school preppy vibe.
The red head, on the other hand, is decidedly more “townie” and not the girl you could take home to Mummy.
What contrast between the girl you’ve photograped and that on the right accidentally in this pics. She’s got a style apparentely more casual, but it works more!
The photo is superb and supremely depressing. She is like an orphan out of a Dickens novel alla Korea. When did dumpy and self deprecating become couture? I do love it anyway…just sayin..
As soon as i saw her, i though she looks like Korean. but she was! haha first, I’m glad to see the picture form Korea as a Korean!
Second, I like simplicity!
Sorry for the girl by her, seems put lots of effort to be looked fashionable but frankly her simplicity is better haha
I like how you set up the shot – and it would have been an impactful photo depicting a girl placing comfort over style.
Then along comes the babe-girl on the right, placing flash and pizzazz over the sensible comfort of the girl on the left; a study in contrasts here, with a touch of spontaneity.
Y A W N . . . actually an exceptionally boring image of an ordinary girl in ordinary clothes . . . ‘supported’ by a whole lot of sycophantic comments . . . really does nobody get out and about any more . . . ? Depressing that people follow like sheep instead of engaging with life . . .
This style seems like a eunhye yoon style in drama ‘I miss you’
In the drama, her role is fashion designer.
I think she really apllies many celebrates’ fashion!!!
