Not a huge fan of this collection, the checks are just dizzying. The all-white outfits are beautiful however, and the 1960s-inspired hair with the bow is inspiring.

I have to agree with you. I was disappointed with this collection…
The checks were nothing special and only occasionally – like on Cara – I found something I actually liked, and would wear.
I don’t think these clothes would look good on the average woman either if they don’t even look fabulous on the models.
The collection I also found to be old fashioned but not in a good way – just very daggy and repetitive.
However, the escalators weren’t a bad idea.!

I actually liked the collection, although I understand what Elisa says…all together, the Damier checks become a bit too much, but on the individual pieces they actually look quite interesting, especially in the yellow, light beige, and see-through examples because there’s not so much contrast.

The styling and the 60s vibe is great, and the final picture, with the full escalators, is simply fantastic!

Its very nice and very pretty. But I am getting a little overwhelmed with everyone doing the boxy 60′s thing. Does EVERYONE HAVE to do the same exact thing??? The only original collection at all is the Saint Laurent one. Still, I like it. I do like all the different prints everyone is coming up with now. These are a great addition.

Whoa, whoa, and more whoa. Is no one else blown away by the Children of the Corn-ness of this? Or maybe it’s The Shining of which I’m thinking.. but the Shining in an airport.. I don’t know about you, but to me, the serious-faced pairs are just a bit spooky.

  70. Charikleia

    October 5, 2012 at 5:18 am

    The Jacobs supremacy.

I love this, I just do. Every season he comes up with a marvellous idea to regenerate power from a -let’s face it- almost worn out pattern.

Louis Vuitton at its best, way to go!

it is high time for Kim Jones to take over LV completely.

  72. Tania Poli

    October 5, 2012 at 5:24 pm

LV means ridiculous budgets for fashion shows and all that buzz, renting Louvre etc. BUT mediocre collections…They will never be as EXTRAORDINARY as Alexander McQueen.
But when the collection is as extraordinary as McQueen everything else will take care of itself including locations. My heart is with McQueen. And Ackermann. And Givenchy.
MJ and LV is commercial and overpriced mass market.

    • diaboliqueguan

      October 6, 2012 at 12:28 pm

i couldnt agree more! MJ is famed for taking something from the fleamarket, and just upgrade the material. hence.. copying. LV should allow everyone to copy their products too? checkers are so OVAH. chanel, CdG, and many other Jap designers had done it. in this collection there isnt much substance. just variations.

    • Jaygo

      October 6, 2012 at 5:38 pm

The truth is they’re ALL trying to do McQueen. Before that they were all trying todo Westwood.

      • diaboliqueguan

        October 7, 2012 at 6:39 am

viv westwood and alaia were 2 of fashion fore-runners in the 90′s, and still are the factories of new ideas. everyone look(ed) up to them for directions and inspirations. mcqueen was un enfant terrible.. who could live out his wild ideas. these creators, and a few others too, should be collecting royalties!

  73. elaine

I really love the elementary approach to scale, proportion and motif here. I love the mirroring effect on the runway – a convention of 1960′s fashion photography.

  75. Shawn Lloyd

I like the 1960s vibe that resonates thru out this collection. A very amazing show and presentation. Marc Jacobs delivers for LV once again!

  76. fashionanarchist

    October 8, 2012 at 1:46 pm

Isn’t it strange that the whole Courreges/ Factory spirit turns up in collections of houses that collaborate with the Love-ly Ms. Katie Grand.
What is the difference between Marc jacobs NY and Louis Vuitton Paris. You could say it is a continuing story…a shame as these are two distinct brands.
The LV show is always more then fashion, it is a production and the clothes, you either like them or not, are there to sell those bags…. Another amazing visual sight by the Jacobs/Grant and Vuitton team, but isn’t it all fanatasy? When will I see a woman walking into the supermarket decked, or should I say, checked out in Vuitton?
Saying this, the clothes were esea

  77. fashionanarchist

    October 8, 2012 at 1:50 pm

continuing story…. these were ‘wearable’ clothes! A good contrast with the winter Yohji ‘belle epoque’ inspired collection.
Even this one had a japanesy undertone from the CdG area.
Fun, bright and joyfull, maybe a good thing in this gloomy fashion ‘crisis’
