Scott, I find your art inspiring and uplifting and I thank you for sharing it with us. However, this comment of mine will not be a praise for you but a critique – it is disturbingly often that you post pictures of people smoking cigarettes and I personally find such images sad and off putting. Call me wierd, but I don’t find smoking sexy, pretty, intriguing or whatever positive aspect people find in it. I find it ugly, self-destructive and incredibly sad. Why advertise it? Why promote it as cool?
While I personally find smoking disgusting and stupid, these are all adults and they can make their own decisions. I don’t see these photos as glamorizing smoking, just showing people doing what they happen to be doing when the picture was taken.
As for the clothes, I’m not really crazy about any of them. The second one’s shirt has too much going on and it doesn’t fit together at all. The first woman has great hair.
I totally agree with you! I dont think Scot does it on purpose. It just shows what a drastically huge number of people, and horribly young people, smoke these days…out of plain boredom! Cigarette producers are making billions on this poison, and most of these people will spend thousands on chemo later on! :(
Dries is such a one-of-a-kind and I love that his shows’ attendees embody his aesthetics, with that same eye for luxurious prints and fabrics, while avoiding ostentatiousness. His menswear S/S 2016 collection wasn’t exactly a hit with us, but with an oeuvre as strong as that of Van Noten’s, it doesn’t lessen our excitement for F/W 2016 at all. We’ll be featuring Van Noten in our Designer Dictionary on July 15…come check us out!
love glamours lounge wear as street wear…..MJ for Marc first season made navy small white dot pipping PJ .. great pattern…so it worked on the street…not all work the mens inspired socks with sandal…remind me of old men …not a good look …
To the tsk-tsk-ers re cigarettes…This is the street…this is what the street looks like…On the street one sees things they like and hings they don’t …It’s called LIFE…Grow up. Please…if you want someone shielding your eyes from things you might find offensive, then go to a mall. Or get a literate seeing- eye dog.
