On the Scene….Prada The Iconoclasts, New York

pradaWeb1Last night marked the opening of the third installment of The Iconoclasts. This edition, in which the identity of a Prada store is taken over by one of cinema’s most acclaimed costume designers, was conceptualized by Michael Wilkinson + Tim Martin. Describing their vision for the store, the costume designer and architect explained,

“Miuccia Prada’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection inspired us to imagine a party to end all parties. The end of Disco. An after party for New York’s most elite, the most avant-garde, a place where people strut and swagger, uptown meets downtown, celebrity meets street style. Each character is an individual, each is a non-conformist, each parties like it’s 1979. No one wants to leave, because, if they do, the fantasy will vanish.”

The Iconoclasts  in-store installment is currently on exhibit through February 19th, so, if you’re in New York, make sure to stop by.

Heaven Sent Breakfast…Napoli, Italy

This piece of heaven was my breakfast every morning when I was in Napoli, Italy. Every morning I would think to myself “I have to take a picture of this incredible…” and then would start eating it before I realized what I was doing!! How can anything be that flaky???

The Fashion Show 20 years Ago (As Seen on Unzipped)

I’ve been going to the shows as The Sartorialist for ten years…but as part of the fashion industry for fifteen years.

I can’t believe that this is what the shows looked like right before I started going!

It feels like nothing changes and yet things do change you just don’t feel it because you’re so in it.

In the early nineties there were photographers still stretched around the entire runway, interacting with the models. It must have been a completely different feeling to attend a show in 1994 as opposed to 2004.

As I come up on my ten year anniversary it makes me wonder how shows will be ten years from now.
