Best Vintage Shopping…Milan

milanvintage

Cavalli e Nastri is a great little vintage shop on Via Brera in Milan. The Last time I was in the shop admiring some of the cool jewelry and accessories, I commented that the belt I ended up purchasing, looked so cool and even though it was vintage that it could totally be Marni (part of why I loved it).

The sales person remarked that Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni frequents the shop herself and suddenly it all made sense. I was happy to buy the belt but felt bad that my purchase might have just deprived Marni of a new accessory!

Between Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, Milan gets short shrift, but I love this city. Thanks for the tip.

when i was a costumer (working in the film industry) in los angeles, some of the costume houses would shut their doors for a day so a group of people working for a designer could spend hours with the vintage clothes.

Great shop indeed. There is another absolute gem in Milan called Madame Pauline on Foro Buonaparte. I follow the shop on instagram and their merchandise and styling is breathtaking.
    Cheers

I will be attending the Fashion Tales 2015 academic conference in Milan in June. This will be my first time in Italy. Thank you all for the recommendations!
