On the Street…Via Valtellina, Milan

The Ideal Dandy.

I love these colors and textures and that modified, slim bathrobe. I’d much rather see a “dandy” dressed like this than the overly-styled mess that most of them seem to wear now.

    Yes, yes, yes!

I think with all the big changes happening right now in fashion, we’re not only eagerly moving forward but are also going back to basics in a way. And it’s a relief, really, because the last few years with the rise of Instagram have been just way too much. We need to simplify.

That coat. Oh, that coat. If the word “covet” hadn’t been rendered obnoxious, and essentially meaningless, by tacky marketers and internet self-promoters I’d say that I am coveting that coat…
The velvet sweatshirt-y top is glorious, too. And I love that he’s wearing them with (what appears to be) a simple pair of jeans.

Beautiful combination. A lot of textures going on here, but they work so well together (love the hint of camo beneath the velvet).

Besides the fact that my opinion on Mr. Schumans comment here may or may not be a relevant addition to the comments to come, I’ll risk it and say: Hell with my opinion, I’ve brought popcorn and I’m looking forward to seeing what people will focus on: The picture, or that Schuman gave his opinion on most “dandies” these days.

Interesting collection of fabric and design and a brave man to wear the combination so elegantly. This outfit looks like you would need to be selective about your audience because it could easily be interpreted as a miss match – couldn’t decide what to wear so I put it all on.

However, he carries the outfit well and it’s his individual style that so makes it work.

Why is so much of great fashion about the unexpected? That little peep of camouflage tee underneath the velvet makes this for me. And of course a great slim coat.

Velvet, jacquard, beautiful colors… Only one person could have created that and it is Mister Ackermann. (collection fw15/16 – I think)
