I used to hate when hipsters like this turned up in the Firenze train station at this time of year and stuck out like sore thumbs. This is not what Firenze looks like the rest of the year. The Florentine men are naturally and casually elegant just like your newsagent. This fellow is the opposite of that.

As an American who has lived in two hipster capitals ( Brooklyn and parts of Los Angeles) I feel your “hate”. This is just screaming to be seen and trying way to hard I think. Oh well! Lucky for you it’s just for one time of year, unlike here.

I slightly disagree about the “elegance” of Florentine men… I live in Florence and I don’t see around here all this elegance! Maybe you were referring to those who came here for Pitti. Well… in that case… yes!!!

By the way… I find Michael Pretolani of course interesting at first glance, and always “funny”, but a little bit too excessive in his outfit… too eccentric to be spontaneous… too shabby to be chic!

Sorry, but no. I have to be honest. I see a person like this at a social gathering, and I just know they’re going to be a prat with nothing interesting to say. And aesthetically, they make me eyes bleed a little. So just no.

I am kind of grossed out by all the pompousness on this page. Clothing is clothing! Expression is expression!

Not sure why everyone is hating on this so hard. I’m tired of everyone labeling people as “hipsters” because they have big glasses. I don’t get it. It’s just like in the 60s when every dude with long hair was a “hippie”. Knock it off.
