On the Street…Portrait, Milan

To me, this feels like a renaissance/baroque portrait !

The face, the hair! The white-lace collar replaced by a cashmere knit.

Reminds me of Rembrandt’s self-portrait with lace collar c1629.

True! This could so well stand at Mauritshuis or the Rijksmuseum.

Thank you Sartorialist. I love this. And the comment by RJH de la Haye. I suspect RJH is Dutch and knows his/her Rembrandt.

I can totally see the baroque portrait! I guess all fashions do come back :-)

I may be a little more low brow, but more, to me anyway, Mick and Keith circa 64-69.
    Angelic all the same. Non?

I though before reading the caption “Napoleonian Era”! So funny!

I agree. I imagined this man with a renaissance outfit – and yes, it feels like a portrait from that era.
