Why don’t I like it? I am not sure, it seems like trying too hard. and the long nailed hand clawed to his arm kinds kind of creeps me out. But hey, he is young and fresh and looks good in his skin, so who cares about what I think?
charikleia – i agree with the claw.. also the style-image he follows is far beyond today , i mean way back in time, the seventies?
led zeppelin had an open fireplace in their own plane then..so why worry , its just an image of artists working for / in an affluent society.
so its outdated. how does an artist working in/for a today foremost precarious society should look like?
I really do not know Carl how artists should look, but this style does not seem “art-y” to me, just “look at me I am so cool (and I wear expensive clothes)”. That is not necessarily negative, by the way.
And you are correct, things have very much changed since led zeppelin time.
the dandy is in deep need of precarious backdrops to be able to show off .. oscar wilde and beau brummel showed off in flannel suits, sometimes smeared or ripped – then the sign of precarious coal workers gear – no aristocrat would have even touched these at their time.. but they kept on wearing them with attitude, even the soles of their shoes were polished.. until they were standard look -
