This was one of my favorite shows of the season. Brilliant casting! Instead of the usual parade of interchangeable models, the runway was full of sincere faces that actually gave a real feel of life to the clothes.

Ooooo…that’s the problem…”these garments would look equally amazing on women.” Some of these are awesome but not all. I like when it looks like there’s a man’s body under the clothes. With the blouse-like tops and full pleated shorts, it’s hard to say what’s under there.

These would look 100 times better on females. Interesting pieces, but barely masculine in most of these shots. Except for the briefcases.

Something about the combo of the high waists, high rises, and the way the models look brings the SNL character “Mango” to mind. I don’t mean that in a good or a bad way, just an observation.

I love the diversity in this show, you’re right it makes the clothes believable and wearable. They should do that for women’s wear too although Jean Paul Gaultier has been doing it for years and it turns out great!

Too much of a schoolboy attire of the ’50s, but still most outfits are too my liking.
Am not sure however as to what kind of guy would pull off those prints without allowing them taking him over.
Last, apart from the interesting (non) models, one cannot help but drool over the gentleman with the swimming suit… (yes, the “light blue” model)
A big kiss from Greece!

some very interesting colours and patterns there…only the cut of the shorts is a bit too harry highpants for me.

I don’t wish to bring a damper on what was clearly such a tradional, artisnal show but these clothes feel more like ”Escapist Fashion” to me rather than something that will apeal to the mass market. It certainly took me on a trip and was a celebration of all things Sicily and the roots of the house. The problem I have is forgetting that I am not the only one who treats clothing like fun objects and likes to let my personality really shine through. I am really looking forward to seeing how these clothes are translated into commercial peices.

July 17, 2012 at 5:47 am
I can imagine that the show was great, but I do not like the clothes displayed.
It gives me a feeling of young men wearing ladies shorts and blouses. Waists just that wee bit too high, trousers a few inches too short and wide.
Most of the short trousers would look absolutely great on female models, but this is just my tuppence worth thugh.

I like the looser fit of clothes. Strange how the times have changed but it’s actually a greater sign of confidence you don’t skintight clothes to show off your physique. The use of “normal people” feels a little gimmicky. But it makes it feel more authentic as street clothes.

This is exactly the kind of thing I would love to see more of this from you, fashion with soul & connection to the market/audience. It really is not about pretty or identicate models, its about real. Less big brands and more underbelly and up and coming labels from the fashion weeks you visit please. Cheers & much love Vx

I always view the shows you post on video to get a better feel for the clothes and the show.
At first glance from of the stills you had posted I thought for sure I was not going to be a fan of this one.
After viewing the video (posted on youtube) I got a better idea of how the clothes looked.
There were a lot of pieces I ended up liking.
The runway video gives you a better perspective of the entire show.

It’s amazing how rigid men’s fashion can be. Do people really think fashion is supposed to make them feel comfy? Maybe that’s what some people use it for, to reinforce everything they think to be true. But of course, the best designers are the visionaries: the ones who push things. With that said, I hope to see much more controversial fashions shows that push these new boundaries we see above. The pieces are beautiful and the cuts are amazing.

Just watched the show and it is brilliant!
Models are from different age groups and of different sizes with expressive faces! I felt in a busy street of Florence in 1945. I think that bringing back the high waist pants in menswear is a very intelligent move and I’d like to see more of these in the streets instead of sagging pants. The best show I have seen so far this season!
