There is something to be said for high waisted khaki…on the proviso that they are beautifully draped and executes like the two examples you show. The detail at her waist is perfection.

Both looks prove that the simple things are just best! Timeless, effortless and perfect. But of course it is all down to the way they both wear it. I wonder what brand the khakis in the first pics is, does anyone have a hint???

the pair in the second photo (of the guy) have been a life time favorite! i have always owned a khaki in this cut… the crazy thing is they are getting harder and harder to find because they tend to be pegged now… the wider leg to me is totally classic!

Pic one – can’t actually SEE her waist :) Pic two – these look like classic WW2 GI khakis, my husband used to hunt them down in disposal stores in the 1980s.

Awesome. A 21st century update on Diane Keaton and Woody Allen’s style circa Annie Hall.

    • robert

      January 8, 2015 at 11:34 pm

Exactly Stephie, I was scrolling down to see if anyone referenced Diane Keaton’s look at that time and clearly Annie Hall. That was a revolution at the time, stores and designers were scrambling.

I’m normally not a fan of high-waisted pants, but both of these are really good. The woman’s look is flawless and the man’s somehow works. I’m not sure I could get away with it, being a 6’4″ very thin man with annoyingly wide hips (the reason I wear lower rides) but this dude pulls it off.

great. I wonder how long before we’re all wearing high-waisted trousers and jeans. It’s a great look, 50′s-80′s but only works on a skinny guy only I think.
