Great look! Thanks for sharing!
September 12, 2009 at 5:37 pm
Love the dress, especially the pockets! And the shoes make me envy her.
September 12, 2009 at 5:42 pm
She is super cute! I love her mix of styles. Casual, fancy, with a little rock and roll.
September 12, 2009 at 5:44 pm
If you hadn't already said those exact words, I would have immediately said how whimsical I thought this was!I love the colour and fbaric combinations.. The feathers just make it rather playful. Not too serious! And gorgeous boots..
the shoes really work perfectly with the that dress – i imagine that was hard to pair.

i love seeing the same people on different blogs, i get to see so many perspectives. you and 'jak&jil' share a lot of the same fashionable people. i create all these back stories in my mind. i love knowing that all of these fabulously chic people cross paths all the time, and that they love sharing their love for all things wearable.
basically: seeing this woman on jak and kil i thought "i love how the feathers and cardigan lend a sense of femininity to her edgier black pallete and chunky shoes."on your blog i thought: "how amazingly simple and classic, with a fun feather detailing to give her that extraa something."
perspective.it's all about perspective.
regardless, everyone on the blogs i follow are impeccably refined in their wardrobe.

I think there should be a law that everything has to have pockets! Love this look and how she just threw on the cute cardi over such a statement dress!http://fashionpearlsofwisdom.blogspot.com/
September 12, 2009 at 6:07 pm
Oh — Love it. A perfect mix of kind of summer but almost fall. The feather details won me over. Great outfit.

Lovely feathers and frolic…
September 12, 2009 at 6:26 pm
In the first photo, I could not figure out what the fringe was – from a lovely scarf! She is very cute, has great legs, her shoes/boots are nice, great earrings. The background of the shutters, dress shop and yellow lines on the pavement is very nice also.
September 12, 2009 at 6:29 pm
How chic and cozy!
September 12, 2009 at 6:30 pm
mmmm those shoes
September 12, 2009 at 6:38 pm
The Male mess
she has a very magical vibe going on, effortless and chic.
September 12, 2009 at 6:43 pm
My hands always feel "lost" without pockets.
September 12, 2009 at 6:46 pm
i saw the same woman in another blog.. but the quality of photos here is amazing… it always is! !

very nice: easy, sexy, just a tad sophisticated, care-free and casual all at the same time.yes, the pockets are just right! just dont put your keys in them….i know i ve got pockets like them…still, fashion is not always about practicality:)
September 12, 2009 at 7:06 pm
I love those shoes!
September 12, 2009 at 7:10 pm
I like the way that her hair and the feathers seem ready to fly away at a moments notice. What a pretty picture.
September 12, 2009 at 7:21 pm
i love the bubble hem and the texture of the feathers chic yet playful
September 12, 2009 at 7:55 pm
That's a fun way to play on the bubble hem into pockets. Surprise pockets instantly make me love the garment!

Genius! No more need for clutches …
September 12, 2009 at 8:40 pm
Those boots are fantastic!
September 12, 2009 at 8:42 pm
Love the combination of slick and floaty, nubby and light. So much happening in few colors!
September 12, 2009 at 8:44 pm
Love the juxtaposed textures, colours, nonchalantly placed hands in pockets and the feathers! The navy against baby pink is stunning too! Such a playful, fun & beautifully-put-together outfit!
September 12, 2009 at 8:54 pm
one of my favorite shots and subjects of yours; she is elegant, playful and so unique.
September 12, 2009 at 9:08 pm
Cute Carrie Bradshaw look-alike, except she's more real. Ah, to be young again and flashing the gams! I, too, really like the pockets and also the long sleeves as a contrast to all the leg exposure. She rocks her own style.
September 12, 2009 at 9:21 pm
You, Jak, and Jil all seem to be at the same places!
I love the first shot of this… The pockets really are a nice detail. I really dislike the cut of the sweater, though!

the boots compliment the dress rather well.
September 12, 2009 at 10:35 pm
She wears it so well! btw your book is amazing. hopefully i can make it to your book signing tuesday =)
September 12, 2009 at 10:42 pm
hate to be a naysayer here, but without pants or a skirt, this look is half-baked.
Her legs are lovely, but … get dressed, for goodness sake …
Lions, Tigers and Fashion OH MY!
September 12, 2009 at 11:13 pm
This is perfection, love the cute pockets and the unexpected sweater with this outfit!
September 13, 2009 at 12:50 am
I've seen skirts with these kinds of pockets, but never a lovely dress like this one! Something about it is classy yet nightlife-ish. I love it! Reminds me of the 20's for some reason.
September 13, 2009 at 1:51 am
i love that this dress is navy!
September 13, 2009 at 2:47 am
I love the shoes, and she is a pretty lady, not 20 anymore, really beautiful, but she doesn't look confident in that dress, like she is trying to pull down the hem, so I think the whole outfit would look much better with leggings, trousers or even with jeans.
But its a great shot of a beautiful woman!
September 13, 2009 at 3:03 am
you notice first the whimsy. you notice next the beautiful textures.
very lovely look. :)
September 13, 2009 at 3:42 am

September 13, 2009 at 4:15 am
i have those boots :D1) she should have worn her hair differently though..2) colors colors colors… i dont know i like things to match and they just arent in this outfit.. i mean pink cardigan, navy blue dress, black shoes, and brown bag? maybe if her shoes were navy blue? i dont know she couldve made an attempt or something but i still love the cardigan over dress look
September 13, 2009 at 4:55 am
wow stunning outfit!!!really like her heels…
September 13, 2009 at 5:33 am
Boots and bag without matching?
September 13, 2009 at 6:29 am
September 13, 2009 at 6:34 am
It is such a perfect expression when a real individual faces us.
September 13, 2009 at 7:35 am
pockets make the outfit! skirts should all have them, dresses to infact. and I can't tell whether the feathers are part of the dress or a scarf but I know I like them, would be quite figure flattering to the flat chested amoung us
September 13, 2009 at 7:47 am
September 13, 2009 at 10:34 am
luv the dress not crazy about the sweater
September 13, 2009 at 11:21 am
I don't think life gets much better than this outfit. Effortlessly feminine and sophisticated. Heaven.
September 13, 2009 at 12:37 pm

September 13, 2009 at 12:49 pm

September 13, 2009 at 12:53 pm
The pockets are genius!
September 13, 2009 at 1:16 pm
Great legs to fit the shoes ( I appreciate them being polished ) and a personal dress.
September 13, 2009 at 1:43 pm
I don't know, Sart, I think you're just gaga over navy.
The boa and fluffy sweater do go well together as textures.
September 13, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Love the contrast in textures.
September 13, 2009 at 4:07 pm
Full of attitude. Love it
September 13, 2009 at 5:02 pm
Great dress! I really like that the pockets don't alter the dresses shape.
September 13, 2009 at 5:44 pm
That's an awesome dress, and she wears it so well, like it's made for her. The pictures are amazing. Your blog is a piece of art, by the way.

September 13, 2009 at 8:50 pm

September 13, 2009 at 10:24 pm
She is darling…I love her look, now there's a girl with style!
September 14, 2009 at 12:23 am
I love that she looks so great in her whimsical way wile appearing to be on my side (the far far side) of 20.
September 14, 2009 at 12:32 am
i find it funny that people still react to things like 'bags and shoes not matching'. A black bag would have been too heavy for this outfit i find, but the black shoes just give her the right standing.
Same for "blue and black dont match". I like the combination a lot, because it is a subtle way to loosen up the 'bat factor'. And black can look brownish or blueish or greenish, depending on the light and the texture. A good way to play for the less daring of us.
September 14, 2009 at 1:20 am
