How can you have a sleeve slimmed down in the upper arm? If the scye (armhole) is cut too large, then its too large… I don't really see how you can alter that… That is a big problem on most RTW coats nowadays. Anyone?
I've never been a fan of white pants on men but I think they help, along with the white shirt, to make the jacket really pop. *Sigh* I can't wait until I get back to the city.

I do not think that is a woman's jacket, looks like Band of Outsiders to me.
As to the weight comments, shouldn't a conversation about personal style focus on how someone dresses to suit their body, rather than judging them for not meeting the standards of convention?
I scrolled down too excitedly today and i ended up combining images– suddenly the double breasted peacoat was being worn with the with the blue pocket dress while the mans contortional posture looked horrible, the outfit still looked pretty good.
I am mad about how he rolled up the coat sleeve. I do that when I don't feel the need to alter such pieces like leather jackets. Very cool. Love his look… will steal.
I think the issue is that everyone's clothes should fit well. If you have big biceps (like my husband and others) you will need a bigger sleeve. If you are more slender, you will look good in a jacket that fits your thinner body. If a man wears a women's jacket to get the best fit, so what? I sometimes buy shirts in the children's department, because they fit better. Buy what works and rip the label out!
I love that scarves are coming back into fashion…for both men and women! I love the ultra long scarf on the man above. Anything to lengthen the look is a good thing in my opinion. http://www.scarvesofgrace.com
I completely agree with you that not enough men have their sleeves slimmed down. However, one thing I think you should point out and which you would have noticed is just how high the armhole itself is cut – it's not an oblong shape, but more rounded and that makes a critical difference in fit and elevates the sophistication of the jacket. Ultimately, the wearer just looks better.

Sart, you are so right. I also have a fetish that demands my jackets fit the contours of my chest. I see men wearing jackets that have a permanent fold of fabric between the armpit and the chest. It dulls the senses, especially on a DB coat. I buy RTW coats with primary focus on my chest/waist not my back/lats.

What is the story with the skinny look? A normal man, with normal muscle definition, can never wear an outfit like that. It would look so stupid.

I agree with comment before, arm hole can't be altered.
slimming of sleeve can only happen from just above elbow to cuff which will exaggerate the large arm hole.
if you want a slim arm hole, do what this guy in the photo did, which i assume is a woman's jacket (check the opening)
