the bun, her expression and the straight white line – it maks me laugh, but at the same time I'm glad I wont get in her way. : )

I WANT THAT COAT!! Can anyone tell me what it is?
Shoes are fab too, although I'm not feeling the sox. Love the blk/wht composition along with the stripe in the road.

Her shoes are rad…
Her face is angry…
Angry fashion! I luv it!

do you need to clean your sensor, or is that rain?
September 14, 2009 at 12:13 am
Was her hair deliberately like that, or just a snapshot with the wind blowing?
Also, the "cow" socks add a nice flair.

the hair kills it

Ooh Ooh love the boots
September 14, 2009 at 12:39 am
Isn't that a Henriik Vibskov oversized jumper?
September 14, 2009 at 12:40 am
The shoes are wicked.

Yeah, pretty sure its a Henrik Vibskov poncho thing. I have one too. The shoes are Acne I think?
OMG, lol. I was just on the same train as her on saturday night and she was wearing that coat and those shoes. I commented to my boyfriend how i like her shoes and coat.
Her friend on the train had an awesome haircut.
This cracks me up. What are the odds?

Lovely, she looks like a samurai. Very strong.

A modern take on the kimono profile? With bulky clothing/loose sleeves tapering from her shoulders and flaring at hip-level and tottering platform shoes with socks. Hair pulled back in a high bun.
pretty kitty publishing

There is a narrative of high-low here. The high fashion footwear is nicely contrasted with the humble tote bag and side-bun hairstyle. The free form coat adds drama.

isn't it a CDG coat?
She is not angry, she is just thinking very hard on all the things she has to do during her day….

I really like these kind of looks, more personal and independent. I have a blog with stylish people drawings. I hope you like it!

It's like she's taking the streets by storm–what a strong picture
September 14, 2009 at 1:15 pm
looks liek she just woke up and was in a hurry. still she can pull it off.
September 14, 2009 at 4:56 pm
socks and open toe shoes? it's the high heel equivalent to socks and sandals.
September 14, 2009 at 11:51 pm
this has nothing to do with her style. it just cracks me up that people are busting out the fall clothes in nyc cause they're just dying to wear them. it's still quite warm here. looking at this photo makes me sweat.
September 15, 2009 at 12:36 am
Love Love LOVE the shoes, but IMO the rest of the look is just a messs…..
September 15, 2009 at 11:30 am
This is wonderful. So different from anything you'd expect to see in NY. Think the people seeing the Japanese reference are spot on: both in the form of a kimono/geisha look, but also in terms of CDG and Yohji. Unexpectedly love this!

the socks & shoes make this whole outfit look Japanese martial artsy…
September 22, 2009 at 4:34 am
The whole look is quite scandinavian, the acne shoes, the Vibskov sweatshirt and the hair bun. she looks great.

I like her style very much! Especially the extravagant shoes and the black oversize coat combined with other black garments. It suits her very well. I love the individual and excentric expression of her style.
The hairstyle reminds me of the “Swebenknoten” (German for Suebian knot) a hairstyle worn by the Germanic tribe of Suebians that invaded the area of Southern Germany in the first century A.D.
