The return of Miami Vice? The only aspect I don't like about the ensemble is the turned up collar. Everything else seems to work.
October 2, 2009 at 2:06 pm
Fantastic. The covered buttons give a formal feel but with the white trousers and grandpa collar shirt, we're hitting casual with touch of COOL.Sart, are you planning a trip to Stockholm for your book signing or was that it?

I always think of European style when I see a DB…and he looks hot in his!!
October 2, 2009 at 2:12 pm
LOVE this colour combination on men and the sexy hint of the collarless grandad? shirt underneath…
October 2, 2009 at 2:15 pm
Great channeling of navy influences with the lightness of a European afternoon.
October 2, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Love the outfit except for the buttons, not feeling them at all.
October 2, 2009 at 2:27 pm
The blue of that jacket is wonderful….but Why do I want him to say "I'll Be Baaaack?
mi moleskine y yo

October 2, 2009 at 2:48 pm
I wish I could do that. I don't like the look, but I really respect anyone who has that strong a sense of self to carry the look.
October 2, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Bad ass HOT DUDE!! . This guy rocks!!! Great cut on the jacket from my favorite tailors.
October 2, 2009 at 2:55 pm
agreed. This is truly impeccable.
October 2, 2009 at 2:56 pm
He is a very handsome man. His jacket is wonderful. Like the white shirt, white pants, white kerchief in his breast pocket. Hate the cigarette.
October 2, 2009 at 3:03 pm
He looks so dandy. I love this shot. Looks like a…portrait of a world famous someone.
He is looking incredibly sharp!
October 2, 2009 at 3:04 pm
love the way he wears it:) love jackets with tees like this:)full charisma!!!
October 2, 2009 at 3:08 pm
I admire anybody who can manage white pants in an urban environment. 2 minutes, and I'd have major smudges on mine.
October 2, 2009 at 3:28 pm
WOW…great look…i like the covered buttons
October 2, 2009 at 3:37 pm
I like it. To me, this is a classic without a twist. The twist has been removed! The covered buttons make this ultra clean and minimal. Always better (to my eye anyway).
October 2, 2009 at 4:20 pm
Pleaseeee, I need this jacket!!! It is awesome!
October 2, 2009 at 4:23 pm
This is an extremely strong look – Parisian people are possibly the best dressed in the world. Like the hanky peeking out of the pocket
LOVE HIS BLAZER . WHITE PANTS MAKE IT EVEN BETTER
October 2, 2009 at 4:25 pm
I LOVE this look!
October 2, 2009 at 4:27 pm
"Classic with a twist" is where it's at. His jacket is like a second skin on him.Such sartorial beauty. The play of contrasts is so tactful. DB jacket with henly neck, dark blue and white. The covered buttons that subdue the flash of DB jacket.
Same goes to the girl in the "Camera Crush" post.
October 2, 2009 at 5:03 pm
Very dapper – I love it!
October 2, 2009 at 5:09 pm
Not my thing, I'm too old and not as good looking, but it's hard to deny he looks very good. But then he'd look good in most things and it's hard not to wonder if that A & S jacket wouldn't look even better with the pants it goes with and a regular shirt. I suppose I'm asking the question is he trying to hard?…..Still he looks great.
October 2, 2009 at 5:55 pm
He looks incredible and his jacket fits him like a dream.
October 2, 2009 at 6:04 pm
while he IS a handsome man, and i agree that the covered buttons are an inspired idea, it does look like he's trying too hard, especially with the popped collar and the hand in the pocket. i do like the white pocket square with this outfit.
October 2, 2009 at 6:16 pm
a bit cliche-looking…
October 2, 2009 at 6:35 pm
"the last of the famous international playboys"
looks good on him. in spite of the upturned collar.
October 2, 2009 at 7:45 pm
I love it, whether I can I can pull something like that off is another question..
Speaking of questions, any idea what sunnies/shades he's sporting.?
October 2, 2009 at 8:21 pm
Love the color contrast..very dapper indeed.http://loveyourfabulousself.blogspot.com/
October 2, 2009 at 8:38 pm
Gorgeous jacket. Love, love blue and white. That said, and I'm not one for rules, it's October for Christ's sake.
October 2, 2009 at 8:42 pm
Love the covered buttons!! Nice

October 2, 2009 at 8:50 pm
No cool! Be relaxed! Don´t be afraid to take your sunglasses of!
October 2, 2009 at 9:14 pm
I'm torn here, in my opinion a double breasted flat collar should not be upturned. But, I don't think he would be pulling off the "international playboy" (to quote "saint stephen" (and Morrissey)) look so well if it wasn't.
October 2, 2009 at 10:03 pm
It's classic because it's disciplined. Heck, even his cig is white!
October 3, 2009 at 12:23 am
he looks so smart n slick!!!

Handsome and like the look except the collar up (contrived and affected) and the cigarette–NOT cool…otherwise Id ask him back for sure! ;-) Jack
October 3, 2009 at 12:01 pm
the man really knows how to dress :)
October 3, 2009 at 5:36 pm
What kind of sunglasses is he wearing?
October 3, 2009 at 8:34 pm
the jacket is sexy. but just seems much more formal without plain buttons.but it's really nice. i love it
October 3, 2009 at 9:36 pm
this look is kinda badass. i'm jacking it.
October 3, 2009 at 11:42 pm
Covered buttons in a double breasted midnight blue?
That's not half of a dinner jacket he's wearing is it?
October 4, 2009 at 12:35 am
Unlike many who've spoken before me, I find the half turned jacket collar an element of inspiration. If he had turned up the collar more, the lapel would be turned too, which would damage the look of the jacket. He gives me ideas for dressing down a formal blazer. (Another is to leave one button undone.)
What I don't like too much – although George is a very good-looking guy – is that his pants look too white and too flimsy for this ensemble. I noticed that George likes to wear cotton-looking pants; sometimes they lack the right weight and shape and don't hang beautifully enough.
Back to the whiteness of the pants. I have a feeling that if I see him moving around in this outfit, my eyes would feel a slight sting at the too-strong contrast between the blue and white.
October 4, 2009 at 7:30 am
Good look and yep, it is classic with a twist. I don't care about the fabric covered buttons either way to be honest. I'd like it a whole lot better with the collar down.
October 4, 2009 at 6:38 pm
give me the jacket and the shirt…ill find my own pants ;)
October 5, 2009 at 6:57 pm
Next time you snap George, Sart, tell us more about him. He's part of the Paris fashion scene it seems.
October 6, 2009 at 12:23 am
I've seen him looking sharp in blue and white in another picture of yours.
Some people have said the look here is contrived (collar, cigarette, shades), but it makes for a great photograph.
I'd like to see a cool wristwatch peeking out from the cuff (Omega Seamaster, maybe).
October 6, 2009 at 6:02 am
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the jacket. covered buttons definatly change the look. NOT feeling the white contast much to boat like for me. I love boats and i can sail but i dnt wanna look like a pirate. ya digg? however i also LOVE LOVE LOVE the sunglasses. very handsome man. not feeling the tan tho. bit orange for me
October 6, 2009 at 7:57 am
Since so much of fashion is recycled, I really think it's the little details that make it fresh and new. Buttons are one of those details.
October 6, 2009 at 9:05 am
"Such a small detail, but it completely changes the feel of the look – more like Men's Couture"…. how silly…
October 6, 2009 at 6:54 pm
love it… but what, whose and how are those pants?and shoes?! …. what about the shoes??……
please mail me some detail… thanks.

October 7, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Very handsome…cigarette and all!
December 16, 2009 at 1:38 pm
I like the total look! specially the t-shirt with buttons, it is the most important touch. there is not detail showing more than other, but what makes me scared is to see him without the blasier. The look can change into something not really nice without it.
September 12, 2011 at 5:40 am
Wonderful collection. Buttons are looking very smart on every garments.
Thanks for showing this pics.
