October 13, 2009 at 10:18 am
I've always thought that that leap in the line out is one of the most graceful parts of this sport. This looks like it was taken at dusk, the light is beautiful.
October 13, 2009 at 10:21 am
Ahh long live those Trinners boys!Ruth @ Matches

great photos. I really get the urge to go out and get dirty. But why are both teams wearing red striped jerseys? It isn't very practical.

Sorry, to be the one to give you a bit of criticism, but speaking as a professional photojournalist I'd say stick with the street portrait.

hot irish men playing sport…
playing my favorite sport
its like heaven.
Oh and in the second photo I love all the lines that go horizontally across the image. The rugby shirts, shadows and the goal post. I also love how the house looks like its tilted sideways.
October 13, 2009 at 4:48 pm
Mate, line outs is ballet in the air. Loved playing rugby, but playing American football is just as tough!
October 13, 2009 at 5:03 pm
LOVE THE IRELAND PHOTOS!
October 13, 2009 at 5:47 pm
I don't believe it – you've put rugby and style together! I can't stand rugby, having been saturated in it in New Zealand, but you've put it all in a different perspective. Wow! Maybe it's the stripes…
October 13, 2009 at 5:55 pm
Plus Belle Ma Vie

October 13, 2009 at 6:52 pm

I fell in love with a girl from Ireland. Unfortunately, it wasn't mutual. I love / hate Ireland.

Gorgeous light, colors, bodies. And the use of shadows! Ah, fleeting youth.
yea i must say.. they look like really sharp outfits. it doesnt hurt that their hot (esp. the redhead)
October 13, 2009 at 8:42 pm
Cool you managed to catch rugby practice in Trinity! I've lived on campus for a couple of years and this was one of the perks :) Your photographs captured their energy as well as their grace. Well done! (And I really like how you managed to use the unique slanting sunrays we get at this time of the year to such beautiful effects in your photos).
Finally, just want to add also that I second this brilliant comment, "gosh, i love how short the shorts are. great shots." :P

October 14, 2009 at 4:08 am
Guys groping each other on a lawn? mwahahaha… No thanks. Despite being athletic, I detests such sports. I got my muscles from working construction sites, not chasing balls.
October 14, 2009 at 4:11 am
October 14, 2009 at 5:18 am

October 14, 2009 at 5:43 am

I love Trinity College, what a nice place to hang out! I miss Ireland…
October 14, 2009 at 8:24 am
We Brits (I'm N.Irish hence British not Irish exactly) love rugby, and rugby boys boys…. I have my very own 'tame' one at home. The Irish, and especially the Trinners guys are really good athletes too. The last shot is my favourite, the guy hoggin' the ball is rather scrum-ptious….scrum..get it? (sorry I had to say it, no one else had)
October 14, 2009 at 9:00 am
These shots show what a v. good photographer you are. One thing to take a shot of a beautiful person standing still, but shooting this kind of action and capturing the excitement is v. difficult.
Next stop, Sart the sports photographer. You'll need a new name :—)
October 14, 2009 at 9:40 am
These photo's remind me of something you would see from the 1950's or in a film like Dead Poet's Society. You have managed to capture the light and weather in Ireland in October perfectly.
This is my first time to comment on anything but I've been a fan for quite a while and your pictures really brighten up my day, so many thanks!
October 14, 2009 at 10:19 am
October 14, 2009 at 12:09 pm
The best part about the last photo is the sheer determination of the player with the ball, his face, his stance, juxtaposed with the look of defeat and posture of the guy next to him. Hilarious!
October 14, 2009 at 12:23 pm
Sigh. Rugby. Thighs like hams…and all those redheads.
October 14, 2009 at 12:30 pm

I can't stop staring at the hip/groin line peeking out from the top of runner's shorts in the last shot — reminds me of my husband. Hot.
