wow… so beautiful. I love all of the earth tones set against the black of the bicycle. For me more photography then fashion, but definitely consisting of both! I came across your site last week as my friend has it set as her homepage, and I've been hooked ever since! I now think differently about how I put together my outfit, I have more courage to express my identity through clothing – thank you :)
Her dress is truly beautiful. Love the way it gathers and falls – and the rolled sleeves. The belt looks intriguing as well, wish I could see it better. She is gorgeous and an inspiration to us "mature women". Thanks for a very nice picture.
oh my gosh… lovely. I'm loving the flats, the bicycle with the baskets… and especially that dress with the sleeves rolled and the gigantic hem – so wonderfully retro. (oh yes. And her tan… a wee bit jealous.)
I love how Italian women aren't afraid to ride their bikes and scooters in their nice dresses. The baskets are charming, yet so practical – the essence of Italian style.
I love it!! I want to go where she's going and I want to wear that dress on that bicycle. Your picture looks like an Anthropologie add. Beautiful hair and skin tone w/ the neutral colors of the dress, belt and bike. Thanks for this bit of inspiration today!!
besides the dress and the bike… I think the woman sporting the accoutrement is very astonishing. Her hands, her calve, her face and general posture gives the tone and character to the photography.
Love the dress. Just gorgeous and classic. For similar European market/bike baskets (big enough to carry my 22 pound Cairn terrier or a bag of groceries) check out:
See, what ruins riding bicycles for poor fools like us outside of Italy is having to wear a helmet. Imagine the lady wearing one and you'll understand what I mean.
If anyone can enlighten me about this graceful woman's beautiful dress I wold be very grateful. The lustre and drape of the fabric is amazing – silk/linen blend maybe? Some kind of voile?
The really big hand-stitched hem is incredibly charming, and so evocative of the 50s/60s, when women would let the hems of their garments down or up depending on the fashion, so you always needed extra fabric just in case. A simple shirtwaist dress is so sexy, too. She is very attractive.
Very simple, yet chic. I love these bicycles, it's a pitty we don't see people driving them in other big cities like we see in Italy a lot, I find it part of our personality, way of living.
Every year I moan the same thing: where are all the good dresses that are affordable? Women of a certain age look wonderful in a good dress. My definition: a quality made dress with flattering lines that includes SLEEVES! The trend to sleeveless dresses even in the winter is stupid. One doesn't always want to have to find a sweater, jacket, shawl, shrug, whatever to cover the arms. The fabric in this dress is gorgeous with it's sheen and fluidity. Envy.

Pietro, A helmet-less girl in my village went too fast down a hill and ran into a wall. She had to be airlifted to a bigger hospital an hour away and was between life and death for weeks. Then she was in casts for months. The human head is much more fragile than we'd like, and a helmet is much, much more chic than casts or scars.
this is how I am in my fantasy life (either her or SJP). All very relaxed but so well put together. So feminine! Love the short depth of field in this pix.
I agree with a previous poster that simple, good dresses are really hard to find.
