Nice. The season's seen a lot of layers, large proportions on small frames and mixing of masculine/femme – it's nice to see something that fits and is clearly femme without it being thigh exposing dress or skirt.
Love it! I have the same haircut – she looks so chic without looking like she's trying terribly hard. Love the pearls with that whimsical sweater. And red lipstick – perfection.
Love her look – practical and stylish! This kind of photo often inspires me more than the overtly fashion-y looks, because it's so accessible and, again, practical for a student. I love the gray and yellow!
The vibrant saturated red lipstick echoes nicely against the red hue in the background. What makes this photo so nice is the dramatic red lipstick and the cavalier expression this woman wears embodying a very retro aura which is reiterated with the pearls and girlish wool sweater.
LOVE the red lipstick!! and then I notice the other feminine, bombshell-esque details – hair, pearls, pretty purse. but I like all this with the jeans. I think she's very successful with a modern look with vintage references. This is such a contrast to design student #1 whose look was nice, but not imaginative.
I love the glamour of the makeup and the long strand of pearls combined with the whimsy of the sweater–this is wonderful! Such a great look. So nice to see people have fun with fashion.
Scott, I don't know if it's the light or the girl's face or the setting on your camera (it looks like film film) or what, but this photo is a real leap forward for you. Or, at least, a leap in a different direction.
Normally, I don't like sweaters with animals or santas or elves or whatever on them, but here, I am loving the look. Maybe it's the red lipstick, hairstyle and necklace. Or maybe it's your photgraph and the way you captured the light on her face. Not sure. But I in all cases, I do like this photo quite a bit.
Cindy Sherman would be proud of this shot. Very much in the mode of classic American cinema, even while this young lady is quite modern. Thank you, again, for the interesting juxtaposition of images and meanings that are the hallmarks of your photographic style.
This is more like it. My heart almost skipped a beat! She looks so modern-retro, so put-together. (The first design student looked like she'd had a bad week. >_>; ) Love it all, the dark, well-fitted jeans, the playful sweater, beads, make-up, purse… Only negative comment is that we don't get to see her shoes!! :D
Beautiful woman in a great photograph. Couldn't you see her singing in a smoky bar, oh about seventy years ago? Do you think she considers herself the black sheep?
very rarely does a photo of a person evoke a song with me. however i feel like she is just about to break into.."at last my love has come along…." beautiful
this isn't so much about the girl or the clothes, but how you capture the light falling on them. very clean. this is a case where the photography creates glamour out of the mundane. bravo!
Take a closer look behind her hand, and you'll see the head of a 3rd white sheep, which means this sweater is telling me a story- a reference to being a black sheep! Makes me love it even more!
nice, very mid 50s (except the low waist jeans). your shot too with the low angle makes her look more statuesque … is she very tall or are you crouching a bit ?
Quirky and classic fashion notes juxtaposed alongside a hair and beauty look that is pure Hollywood glamour. She does/will stand out in a crowd. Great style of fun and perfect grooming. One of my fave recent pics!
