Great pictures, especially the first one. I will be sure to check Burberry's website as well. Fashion magazines keep talking about an investment piece- IMHO, there is nothing like these trench coats that you will use year after year.

Both trenchees look stunning. The guy in Berlin is simultaneously movie-beautiful and subversive, and the androgyne in the New York picture …well, I love the stance, the boots, but most of all, I love the trout tattoo!

A second look surprised me at the young man in NYC with the tattoo on his arm! Eagerly awaiting for the Burberry link to work… Your book was wonderful!

Wow! A cool project on such a historically important piece of clothing!

There was a great article in the New Yorker back in September about Burberry and Christopher Bailey that you would enjoy if you missed it: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2009/09/14/090914fa_fact_collins

The most interesting thing about the Burberry gaberdine trench coat, is that it was a military innovation first and fashionable outerwear second. The article likens Burberry to Dupont in terms of inventiveness!

Is it just me, or does the collar of a trench coat practically beg to be flipped up? A trench coat with a popped collar screams mystery and ruggedness.

The New York pic is absolutely stunning! It has a lot of attitude there and a feeling of something historical…the way the boy looks. It makes me think of the streets in the really old photos from the 1900's beginning. Love it!

Perhaps the reason there isn't much diversity in the subjects you found wearing Burberry trench coats is because they cost upwards of $1000.
