Every time I see someone making a visual statement on the Taipei MRT or the streets of Hong Kong I think, "He/She could make the Sartorialist." Photos like these ones you've done for Burberry have also changed the way I envision my own style. Thank you!

For some odd reason, I happened to be recently looking at some drawings of Poiret designs from the early-20th c., so when I looked at the woman in the first photo, I was struck by how much she resembled (in basic form) some of those designs from nearly 100 years ago. What I am most enjoying about "The Art of the Trench" is the manner in which a photo like this one, can conjure up such historical references without seeming at all mawkish-not necessarily an easy feat to pull off when dealing with "heritage goods" from a company with as old a pedigree as Burberry. For those of us who are in the fashion industry and are watching this campaign unfold, I do think that there are some relevant lessons to be found here for our own brands, be they new or old.

Is it permissable for guys to be wearing womens jackets? I've done it a few times because I'm skinny and it fits me better but I always feel so self concious. I wonder if he's confident enough in himself or he just doesn't know…
I agree and absolutely love the look on the first , and also the second picture. about the third Iñm not sure…there´s an italian flavour to her pattern and colour mixture which are are interesting. However the ensamble is not quite right for the season.

Maybe it's just the influence of hearing Berlin Wall stories all week, but your first photograph makes me think of everything that I associate with Berlin cool. I like the buttoned-up formality of this trench, plus the dark lipstick and "shingled" hair. It's such a beautiful image; and the background really sets it off.
as much as like the trench coat and the woman's overall presentation, my favorite part of the first picture is its composition. her elongated frame melds so perfectly with with the linear brick facades, and the yellow medians stretching into infinity. the color pallette is something else altogether. i have to say that the evolution of your photography over the years has been exquisite, a true pleasure to behold. this photograph just screams j. alfred prufrock and the hidden beauty of urban wastelands. t.s eliot would be proud!

Most everybody loves the top pic the most. It looks to me like a shot out of an artsy movie set during WW11. Perhaps everyone is responding to really well cut, well designed clothing. Such a great fit.
I've been really enjoying looking at all the "Art of the Trench" pictures.. I think it's a really inspiring project idea, with a great outcome. Its so interesting seeing how it is worn by different people and how it will then showcase part of their own unique style (while still wearing the same thing as many others!)
The second look is my favourite-of course the trench looks great, but the colour and pattern of the scarf plus that style of bag really make the whole outfit
not many comments on the last look..but I like her look alot. Good use of various patterns and she almost looks something out of the 60's yet modern. i also enjoy that she's not wearing much makeup which shows her age.

I love the old european vintage look of the first photo and the lace up boots add a great touch to the ensemble. The fact that the last button is unbuttoned makes it more real as well. She has a unique beauty.
