I wished you'd come to Rome too!!!:) Although the street style tends to be a little bit boring, lately things are changing!!!:)Greets and lots of sun from here,M.
November 19, 2009 at 8:44 am

November 19, 2009 at 9:34 am
Love the man's hair cut! The length of the coats is quite stylish! The man's clothing is quite nice, but his shoes don't seem to go with what he is wearing. Love the coloring in the second photo, the effect of the light and of the shade.
November 19, 2009 at 9:35 am
Wow! You are in Spain!!! Exelent!!What's up with Barcelona???Come here please!!xoM.S.
November 19, 2009 at 9:50 am

November 19, 2009 at 9:56 am
I'm so glad that you've found something here that is gonna make you come more often! :)I like how the scarf (that will normally give a serious halo) makes the outfit more modern! :)
November 19, 2009 at 10:00 am
One of my dreams is to be a TRAVELLING MAN! Great pics as usual.
November 19, 2009 at 10:06 am
Ciao, Lisbon is much more elegant than Madrid, come here!! LOL
November 19, 2009 at 10:09 am
November 19, 2009 at 10:11 am
That coat has great lines, and love the patch pockets. Has the lean portions of a well cut sport jacket.
November 19, 2009 at 10:13 am
Hope you stumble across some equally good finds in Barcelona too! What a pity the sky is overcast today – not great light for shooting pix… Enjoy anyway!
November 19, 2009 at 10:14 am
Hey!someone from my city in The Sartorialist, soooo happy to see this. Great shoes.
I prefer the clothes on the mannequin to what Javier is wearing! That long jacket looks poorly made in the navy, whereas it is quite elegant in the brown wool.
November 19, 2009 at 10:25 am
I was one of the lucky persons in being able to be present at the signature of your book last Tuesday in Madrid.
You are a very nice man, the wait was worth it.
Regards to Garance, she was so sweet … I love her!
November 19, 2009 at 10:40 am
Gees Louise, let him enjoy Madrid a little. The man just landed in Spain, hasn't had an espresso or watched a corrida yet and he's already requested to make an appearance in Rome to meet the Pope.
At the end of the day, to use a trodden expression, it boils down to the individual, not the city. And there you have it, ladies and germs.
Madrid is fantastic, you should also check out Gallery and Isolee.
November 19, 2009 at 10:50 am
Javier is himself a reason to travel to Madrid…
November 19, 2009 at 10:57 am
Check out another fabu Madrid store. http://www.gallerymadrid.com. Perfect mix of fashion and art.
November 19, 2009 at 11:00 am
A friend and I took a trip through Europe and of all the places we went I think we were most surprised with Madrid. We didn't have much expectations and thought we would only use it as a starting point for the rest of Spain, but we were amazed at the stylishness of the city and its people…and the women, oooh la la the women!!!

It was a pleasure to hear you in Madrid – despite the very loud translator doing all he could to drown your voice!
Please come back so we can hear you live and untranslated!
Loved what you said about style and honesty. That's why you have such fervent followers the world over.
November 19, 2009 at 1:27 pm

November 19, 2009 at 4:11 pm
I posted a comment that was essentially a tribute to Madrid and the sartorial splendor of it's older folk, and alas, no show. Wassup with that Sart? Is this a blog site or not? Would it have been posted if I had mentioned your BOOK?
November 19, 2009 at 4:21 pm
I visit Madrid once a year and just as with Just One, I try not to miss Gallery, Isolee and Delitto e Catigo/Exotic (all of them are just a few blocks away and worth the walk).
While wandering around Salamanca district I always feel inspired by guys wearing awesome-fitting suits riding their Vespas
November 19, 2009 at 4:45 pm
oo looks great love the coat very classic young or old!
November 19, 2009 at 5:04 pm
Paul Smith made a crombie in a similar fabric a few years back. Slimmer silhouette, no patch pockets. Ticket pocket! (Like Paul's better. And it was v. inexpensive.)
November 19, 2009 at 5:17 pm

November 19, 2009 at 5:20 pm

Next time you have to visit the shop of LANDER URQUIJO (serrano 120) you would have loved it. He is a young sartoria who makes made to meassure suits, mixtures classic fabrics with crazy patterned new ones and the sells vintage furniture bought in antique french markets.Plus he is the nicest guy in townHonestly, you would love it

November 20, 2009 at 5:06 am
You talked yesterday in Barcelona about this history of a man in Madrid, when you take a photo from him while he was answering his movil phone.

November 20, 2009 at 8:23 am
Well we should not fight about cities, definitely each city has something to offer fashion wise. Speaking of it, I found an incredible magazine that covers fashion trends from different countries in the world! it is called Schön! Magazine and it is just so fresh and not stereotypical. it is reaaally cool check it out and maybe some of your country's fashion is featuring this issue i dont know! http://www.nineteen74.com/magazine/current.html
let me know what you think!!!

Gorgeous, but there are more in Madrid…Please, more Madrid. We have to discover it!
November 24, 2009 at 6:35 pm
More Madrid, please!!! just too few pictures :-(There are great shops here. Alternativelly to the mainstream "Salamanca quarter" (calle Serrano, Velázquez, Goya…) I should highly recommend you to visit triball, the more alternative neighbourhood near Calle Ballesta. These is interesting: young and emerging designers, cool bars and cafes, brothels and sex-shops all mixed up…Very inspiring!!I'd love you guys to visit my Vintage Store on line:

Last year, i lived in Madrid.People over there have a really classic approach towards fashion in my opinion. In Barcelona diffrently from Madrid, we are able to see a more urban and cosmopolitan aprroach. I think there is more variety in Barcelona, in the other hand the sophistication from the Spanish people in Madrid abosolutely blows me away, the men over there are always impeccable, dressing really formally with beautifully cutten suits and cotton shirts. When you go there again don't miss a street called Calle del Duque di Liria there are some amazing stores like Mini and Sportivo and there is another one called clean on the corner of Alberto Aguilera which is extremly nica aswell. Isolee (Chueca) and Gallery (Jorge Juan) are great shops aswell…

December 28, 2009 at 12:24 pm
In Madrid there are diferrent areas with different street styles, Salamanca quartier, the most stilish, Chueca quartier and Fuencarral street, the most cosmopolitan and 'fashionable', Gran Vía, the street where you find everything, and Moncloa, where universitarians live,of course each place is very far from the other, so it's difficult to see variety like in the small Barcelona.Look here: you'll see the variety of Spain fashion on streets:http://www.theiberianlist.blogspot.com/
