The white pants create a great contrast to the browns and blacks of the other people in the shot. The orange/red cardigan against the blue collar with the neutral brown in between is great. Not to mention the classic leather gloves that, even though a bit much, compliment the shoes immensely. Bravo!
Great look. The large cardigan is a good alternative to a jacket. The cardigan will work even better with a v-neck sweater over a collared shirt and tie.
is this a dude? if so, then dress like one..everyone will almost praise anything the sartorialist will take a picture of. C'mon…this isnt anything special. its rather confusing. Sinatra would be throwing up.
I love the three buttoned cardigan, the colour and texture, but I don't like the velvet collar. I think it's better if the sweater has a lower neckline.
now this is when white jeans come into their own, dark trousers would have made the knits appear too weighty. i love the colours and textures of the knits as well as the touch of teal of the shirt collar. thanks scott
i likes this look for the cold season, where you normally see a lot of black, brown and grey- always happy when i see someone in bright colours!this looks comfortable, yet stylish- i like the gloves and those pants have a great fit!
I like the look, there is so much black and dark brown on the streets now that this really catches my eye. He looks great. I find it odd that everyone didn't know right away this is a man.
great! :) i always use to associate white jeans to summer and so i don't wear them at all in winter.. but he really pulled them off! if i could achieve this look i would certainly wear white jeans in december more often!
When I thought it was a girl I thought 'she' was dowdy, like a science student. Now I see it is a boy and he looks cool. It's official – women have to work so much harder!
He is amazing! I've seen him a couple of times and think he is oh so fabulous! His hair is too good to be true! Asians!!! He is so different from the rest, and the contrast between him and everyone in black just makes this so much better! Everything is just so dynamic! Bravo!
Yes, he's a standout. Which is to say, he's wearing today what the kids in my neighborhood were wearing yesterday. Why not visit the kids in your neighborhood, Sart?
I love this look, warm and comfortable. I thought it was a she until I saw some he comments and had a closer look. So good job on the androgyny. Also, I like that the shoes are scuffed.
The stance is a major clue to his gender. Compare it the caved-ankle or pigeon toed stance of Alesssandra a few days ago, who belied her (fabulous!)androgynous look with her i'm-just-a-helpless-girl stance.
Joe VDB said… This is a yawn, man or woman, I don't care. I have a feeling only positive comments get promoted.
Absolutely right, Joe. It's what makes the comments section of this blog such a bore. I made a perfectly acceptable point about this being a case of trickle up fashion by writing that what I see here today I saw the kids in my neighborhood wearing yesterday, but it apparently did not make the grade. Not quite positive enough, I imagine.
I almost bought a double breasted cardigan this past week…now I regret not getting it. It was even heathered in a similar way, though I preferred the color; it was a very pretty sage green. I also think its completely unfair that men can look as chic as women in clothes which are infitinetly less uncomfortable (i.e skin tight and sky high. One could argue that a girl looks just as nice in denim and flat shoes, but I think we all know in our heart of hearts that women are most stylish in stilettos and dresses. I'm just bitter. http://sewagefarmoftheages.blogspot.com/2009/12/new-voice-of-levis-is-old-voice-of.html
Parsons student!!!! At least I think soooo…swear I have seen him at school!
+ my only complaint about this look is the buttons! This sweater would look sooo much better with some vintage brass buttons! >>> I tend to be a button snob… srsly! <<< :/
I love it, and I think the gloves are actually really important to the whole look, they keep it from delving into a librarian-ish territory. (not that that is necessarily bad)
I like the layers of shirts she has on. The blue in the collar contrasts with the orange of the bulky sweater. I personally like bulky sweaters. They are so cozy:))
