It's funny how she can be so androgynous and yet overtly sexy at the same time
denim skirt and stilettos?!
you'd never think it works but it looks interesting and great!
The Sartorialist is my favourite blog everr :)

Fun, she looks totally approachable.
the epitome of personal style, because the style and the personality are one.
January 27, 2010 at 7:23 am
Love the look! And I'm sooo in love with the shoes! Really love it! :)
January 27, 2010 at 7:25 am
you are right!, yes, she is beautiful, I mean it, beautiful.
makes me rethink my hatred for denim skirts…also, awesome shoes.
January 27, 2010 at 7:30 am
those shoes again, but they work better in a monochromatic ensemble.
January 27, 2010 at 7:31 am
She is actually wearing those high heels on the street! A plus for Alessandra!
January 27, 2010 at 7:34 am
she's so playful. oh, and i love those ysls
January 27, 2010 at 7:35 am
fantastic, absolutely perfect, so sexy, so elegant, so mysterious, so friendly… she is totally amazing.

January 27, 2010 at 7:37 am
oh she looks amazing! love the jacket, the skirt and those shoes!!! so beautiful. xx
January 27, 2010 at 7:38 am
that's true. from my experience for such person it is really terrible if you have to wear something like uniform in your everyday life, because of your job requirements..
January 27, 2010 at 7:40 am
It's a really cool outfit! I fond of her hair and bag and shoes ;D!
January 27, 2010 at 7:41 am
There is just something about this girl, so looks soo gorgeous and playful
January 27, 2010 at 7:43 am
love her. those heels are serious!! she wears it all very well.
I love how the pocket pop out over her legs!
January 27, 2010 at 7:45 am
January 27, 2010 at 7:47 am
Love how her outfit moves from boyish & androgynous to very female and sexy.
January 27, 2010 at 7:48 am
to me she truely is an inspiring fashion icon!!
January 27, 2010 at 7:50 am
I like the way you describe it…
January 27, 2010 at 7:52 am
Love the tights! I can never find a pair that are fully opaque, but she seems to have done it! The dark nail polish is great, too.
January 27, 2010 at 7:53 am
I just love how she makes her look so easy.Flawless!!

January 27, 2010 at 7:58 am
ahh my fave person that u photograph, and what a surprise to see her in those HIGH heels – looks amazing ofcourse, as does every look she puts together.
awesome style items from all over the world: http://inspireddzine.com
January 27, 2010 at 7:59 am
O.M.G. Alessandra in HEELS?! Everytime you think you have her style down to a T, she busses out of it. love it! definitely a welcomed surprise.
I'm blown away by this woman–how she can pull off androgyny so perfectly and then this! Stilettos! With a jean skirt! Amazing. This made my day.
January 27, 2010 at 8:04 am
The Barbour / country overtones of the jacket work really well against the denim / workwear skirt.
I just bought Barbour to go with really tailored skinny Prince of Wales trousers, to try to get the same effect, but somehow I'm not pulling it off so well :-/
It's a given her smile is heart-melting but it detracts from those amazing hands — the most elegant, long & beautiful fingers! Incredible.
Also a sucker for turned in, geek-feet pose.
Is that a hat in my hand? I'm wondering whether she was wearing her hat & pulled it off before the pic…& if so, was she blasé enough not to care about hat head!? I like the idea she didn't care to rearrange her hair, almost as much as I like the thought of her primping her hair hurriedly before the pose.
January 27, 2010 at 8:08 am
i really like alessandra's style since the first time you featured her! she's just so chic and adventurous, with a bit androgynous touch. i'm totally diggin her style here!!
Jorge from W Palm Beach
January 27, 2010 at 8:09 am
Love everything about the outfit, especially the proportions and the endless legs achieved by the high heels and leggings in the same tone. The one flaw IMHO are the pockets popping out underneath the cut-offs, but love the rest! Jorge from WPB
January 27, 2010 at 8:10 am
Love her legs :)

Tea with Edith
It´s weird, isn´t it?I like her haircut.
January 27, 2010 at 8:17 am
True, she looks like her style became her or vice versa :)
It is not easy to achieve.

Stilosa e sicura di se, come sempre! NICE
January 27, 2010 at 8:27 am
Oh my, i never though denim-skirt can look so great, it was always too cheap for me. But this really rocks!+++
I love the nail varnish- and the hand of course. Can't see that the stilettos are her style.
January 27, 2010 at 8:34 am
She looks amazing,so confident and so sexy! She has greeat leggs!I agree with Bamto, she is an inspiring fashion icon…
January 27, 2010 at 8:35 am
I love Alessandra's style!! :)
January 27, 2010 at 8:44 am
I love how the top is so different than the bottom but somehow they go so well together. amazing.
January 27, 2010 at 8:47 am
Alessandra only seemed to wear flat shoes and trousers, but she looks so amazing in a mini skirt and stilettos! I never really liked the way a denim mini-skirt looked on the female figure, especially with the "Abercrombie and Fitch" aesthetic, but I love the way Alessandra's style makes me reconsider this. This outfit is fabulous!
January 27, 2010 at 8:53 am
OK, long time reader and a big fan of this blog, but I think this is a hot mess. This outfit is not even in the same league as her leather jacket, baggy trousers ensemble that she wore in a shot a few months back (in Paris I think). I think sometimes readers get a little starstruck and a little sycophantic here. If this were a shot of someone in a mall in some backwater American town, and she were wearing the same thing, we'd certainly not be praising her style, or her proportions, or her playful androgyny. The context of the blog, the photos, and the backdrop too, all contribute to making this outfit better than it is.
I'm not saying that these elements (jacket, shoes, haircut) don't have merit. And it doesn't hurt that she's got terrific cheekbones and a terrific body. But the combo, for me, doesn't work.
March 13, 2013 at 4:50 pm
Well said, I totally agree!

January 27, 2010 at 8:58 am
you're right, her style seems simple, but it isn'it!
January 27, 2010 at 9:01 am
I like this style
January 27, 2010 at 9:02 am
I *love* the exposed pockets.

January 27, 2010 at 9:05 am
Never would consider denim and stockings but must say im impressed..i adore her shoes x
January 27, 2010 at 9:08 am
I love it!!
January 27, 2010 at 9:25 am
i like your photos so much!!! sorry if i make mistakes writting, cause Im from Colombia. i really like her style. i wanna have it!
January 27, 2010 at 9:26 am
is that a fur neckwrap under her jacket?
January 27, 2010 at 9:27 am
I love how her shoes contrast with the rest of the outfit.Let's grow up later
January 27, 2010 at 9:28 am
Androgynous, sexy, perfect!
January 27, 2010 at 9:30 am
Never been a fan of those leather jackets, never been a fan of denim skirts…then how come I love this outfit so much!
Love the monotone leggings and shoes combo. I mean, damn, just look at those legs haha!
January 27, 2010 at 9:31 am
She knows how to use those shoes to her advantage! Great shoes!!http://Www.chicmilano.blogspot.com
Alessandra seems a good person to know. Liked her skirt, funny but very sexy. (:
Indie Mom and the Reluctant Banker
January 27, 2010 at 9:32 am
She's an adorable girl and I really think she looks great here, except for the pockets sticking out under her skirt. I don't quite get that trend.
January 27, 2010 at 9:34 am
Long legs and heels. Doesn't get much better. Love her hair.
January 27, 2010 at 9:39 am
I love how that skirt (especially with the stilettos) would look too short/ sexy/ trying too hard on others, but not on her.
January 27, 2010 at 9:44 am
Nah. I think you missed on this one. Quirky style, yes. But this girl looks like a dude. Specifically the dude in the Apple commercials (if he dressed up as a clown). Everyone above is just being nice. Approachable doesn't mean "sexy" or "hot". In fact, unapproachable is way hotter.
January 27, 2010 at 9:48 am
I love mini denim skirts with a pair of sexy stilettos and she is pulling it off gloriously. The jacket is beautiful and the dark nail polish makes it sexier. I love Alessandra's more feminine side.
The Jazzy Belle
January 27, 2010 at 9:55 am
I'm always so happy to see photos you've taken of Alessandra! She is such a beautiful woman! I've come to your blog many times to find pictures of her for inspiration w/my own style. Her legs are amazing and that smile lights up the page! Beautiful!! Thank you.
January 27, 2010 at 10:11 am
She always looks amazing and cute! I love the shoes and skirt together!
January 27, 2010 at 10:24 am
I think there's a strong correlation between personality and style. There's no denying that she's impeccably dressed, so I can only imagine what she's like as a person! haha
January 27, 2010 at 10:35 am
the definition of "legs for miles."Once more, a winning smile is the best accessory!
January 27, 2010 at 10:47 am
what a combination! never would have thought of a a skirt like that with those shoes. her happy smile and cure nails just finsish her look :) i'm very much inspuired
January 27, 2010 at 10:54 am
Nice girl! Simple, pretty and fun look. (pockets = awful though)
January 27, 2010 at 10:55 am
She looks like a fun sweet person. I do not see her clothes, I see her.
January 27, 2010 at 10:57 am
January 27, 2010 at 11:00 am
I love her style more than anyone else's you have featured on here. She definitely lets her personality speak through her clothes. Amazing!
oh my god! some Italian girls forgot all about elegance!

January 27, 2010 at 11:03 am
Love the combination with the heels!http://thestylecurator.blogspot.com/
January 27, 2010 at 11:06 am
Love the look but wish she would flip her skirt down one roll…or at least cut out the pockets. Hate pocket showage!http://www.jillymoos.com
Great great style with boyfriend trousers or this amazing denim skirt
January 27, 2010 at 11:08 am
seriously love this outfit, and i neeeeed this jacket. does anyone know who makes it?
January 27, 2010 at 11:09 am
your description is perfect! playful and androgynous, but super sexy and so perfectly casual. I love this look! Her legs look fantastic too!
I like her style, but I don't understand the giant shoes trend.
January 27, 2010 at 11:12 am
Stylish people know how to make the most of their best feature and this girl is certainly working hers!
January 27, 2010 at 11:23 am
I like this overall look but I find the pockets linings sticking out of the bottom of her skirt to be a bit distracting.
January 27, 2010 at 11:27 am
It seems like the wrong head and hair sitting atop that killer outfit, and it seems wrong of me to say it.
Gene Wicker Jr
The whole ensemble works. Love the black tights (great legs) and the shoes are fabulous. Not everyone could pull it off, but she does.
January 27, 2010 at 11:36 am
I love those shoes. On the bottom half she looks feminine, on the top half a bit more masculine. xo
January 27, 2010 at 11:44 am
i hate the pockets. a britney spears thing… otherwise ace.
January 27, 2010 at 11:45 am
she seems really happy. love the hair.
January 27, 2010 at 11:49 am
great thought scott. love ur insight.
January 27, 2010 at 11:52 am
Interesting combo…I'd like it better if the denim skirt was not rolled up. The pockets hanging out kind of throw the whole look off for me.
January 27, 2010 at 12:02 pm
She mixes masculine and feminine pieces SO well and makes it look sexy.
January 27, 2010 at 12:06 pm
This is a good look for her. I never thought denim and black tights/shoes would work! I like it — especially the little pockets peaking out and the upturned hem of the skirt.
January 27, 2010 at 12:19 pm
Her style is so uniquely hers, and she's the kind of women who a creative type could inspire a lifetime of musings!
she ahs amazing style and that jacket is to die for!
January 27, 2010 at 12:22 pm
OMG! I scrolled down, and then those legs just kept coming and coming.
January 27, 2010 at 12:25 pm
She still looks casual even with those heels!
January 27, 2010 at 12:27 pm
I love her shoes and she seems so happy i like it :)
i love her.
January 27, 2010 at 12:43 pm
She can only pull this off because not only of her personality, but also her built. A curvatious woman dressed like this would seem vulgar.
January 27, 2010 at 12:45 pm
Wow you look fantastic in those pictures! I don't think that everyone could pull off those outfits like you can though :)
January 27, 2010 at 12:51 pm
January 27, 2010 at 12:52 pm
like it a lot, makes me smile
January 27, 2010 at 12:53 pm
this is superb.
January 27, 2010 at 12:57 pm
Sorry, not digging the pockets hanging out from the skirt. I don't care what your age or shape, that skirt is just too short.
January 27, 2010 at 1:21 pm
by far one of my favorite people you photograph. the image of her seems so honest…her outfits always seem to be a manifestation of her true authentic self. and yes, wowzers at that rolled denim skirt.
January 27, 2010 at 1:48 pm
this is a really fun one to scroll down on, on your computer screen, and be surprised by! bike messenger from the waist up, bike messenger's dream from the waist down. weird and wonderful!
January 27, 2010 at 1:49 pm
The beautiful combination of "boyish" figure and sexy style. This makes her uniqe. And of course her shoes are unforgetable:)
January 27, 2010 at 1:58 pm
the skirt, tights and heels make her legs look like they go one for miles. just gorgeous!
January 27, 2010 at 2:07 pm
interesting commentary. i love the height of her high heels.
January 27, 2010 at 2:17 pm
Oh my! The combination of the skirt length with the black tights and shoes, makes her legs go on FOR-ever! Looks amazing!
January 27, 2010 at 2:26 pm
I think that she needs her own section on you blog, her style is great and she is a pretty person
January 27, 2010 at 2:27 pm
when ever I see her photos, it makes me smile. Her style is so effortless and she always looks like she's on cloud 9
January 27, 2010 at 2:35 pm
ALWAYS loved a black stocking with a black heel! BOOM BOOYAH!
January 27, 2010 at 2:40 pm
I can't believe nobody has mentioned this already. The suffering she must be enduring in those shoes. They're absolutely terrible from a physiological standpoint. The human foot was not engineered to be stuffed inside those coffins.
This is the price people pay for fashion and I understand that. I just can't help feeling sorry for her.
January 27, 2010 at 2:41 pm
she's very lovely… and I love those legs!!!
January 27, 2010 at 2:55 pm
i'm afraid the stilettos are making her head look small. those shoes are really not doing it for me, i can understand the mixing of the sexes thing, but why would you want to walk on needles for that? folding up the skirt is certainly interesting, without the pockets showing of course. one less fold of the skirt, and it might have worked. i do like the jacket. her earlier outfit was killer, well put together and proportional.
January 27, 2010 at 3:05 pm
What an interesting combination.I can't say it's my favorite… The Sartorialist however is a lovely blog. Thank you for sharing all of the beautiful pictures.
January 27, 2010 at 3:45 pm
I love Alessandra! After seeing her previous pictures, I couldn't imagine her in high heels, but here she pulls them off effortlessly without losing her androgynous style, and looking, as usual, very sexy.
January 27, 2010 at 3:49 pm
Love the pockets being longer than the skirt!
January 27, 2010 at 3:55 pm
You've captured her perfectly. Of course…
January 27, 2010 at 4:29 pm
I completely agree. You usually wouldn't mix the words androgynous and sexy in the same sentence but this is suprisingly so. Love the shoes! Great look
January 27, 2010 at 4:37 pm
i can't help but wonder what happens with the skirt if she's walking around or sits down. would it come unrolled. maybe it's sewn up like that…
January 27, 2010 at 4:38 pm
does anyone know where those shoes are from?
January 27, 2010 at 4:39 pm
Ah…those lovely YSLs. Love it! Wish I owned a pair.
She has great style – people where I luve cannot pull that off. It's the culture.
January 27, 2010 at 4:51 pm
- I love her!
January 27, 2010 at 5:05 pm
Her hair reminds me of an old man with a toupee. But somehow it works on her!
January 27, 2010 at 5:27 pm
This girl has got style a mile long. The short skirt, the leggings and shoes in the same color all make her legs look a mile long too. She looks great!
I have a similar skirt I've been wearing lately. Paired with the jacket and shirt makes it more masculine and lessens that hoochie edge.
January 27, 2010 at 5:43 pm
All I can say is wow! I've seen all her shots on this site, and not one has been outdone by anyone…
January 27, 2010 at 5:50 pm
she's an inspiration to both male and female dressers. you wear your personality: who you are.

lovely, as always!
Blush and Sage
January 27, 2010 at 6:45 pm
You're a wonderful writer! "Simply" should be "simple," (that's the editor in me) but what a beautiful way to sum her up in a few sentences.
January 27, 2010 at 6:49 pm
she's sassy and she has a great set of pins.
January 27, 2010 at 8:41 pm
That hair is too mannish. Everything from the neck down is OK, but she looks like a boy. If she had her hair in a feminine pixie style it would be much better.
January 27, 2010 at 8:59 pm
she is so adorable. like a stylish toddler. she just makes you want to laugh with her.
January 27, 2010 at 9:13 pm
she reminds me so much of the pilot amelia earhart..beautiful!
January 27, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Magnificent! Love the shoes, the hair, the skirt, the total look.
January 27, 2010 at 9:57 pm
January 27, 2010 at 10:05 pm
LOVE the shoes. The whole look is great.
January 27, 2010 at 10:14 pm
I really enjoy the black tights and this great denim mini. I usually despise denim skirts but she makes it look so cool and new.
January 27, 2010 at 10:20 pm
She is always creative and original, such covetable style.
January 27, 2010 at 10:41 pm
Shortie denim skirt? Noooooooo…!
January 27, 2010 at 10:56 pm
She is fantastic.
January 27, 2010 at 11:19 pm
I love the skirt! I'm going to make me one.
January 28, 2010 at 12:04 am
it did take me by surprise when scrolling down to find those stilettos!
i have always loved Alessandra's androgynous style but i have to be honest this time the wide rolled up hem is almost a pain to look at. when i say "pain" i mean "too bad it's just that one flaw".
January 28, 2010 at 12:19 am
love those legs
January 28, 2010 at 12:23 am
Lovely. The details here are great- the pockets especially!
January 28, 2010 at 1:08 am
She is the epitome of modern style for me right now! I have been ogling her in the previous posts and pouring over each of them revenously. Her look is always so playful and fresh yet grown up and i've actually run out the door to find pieces in a similar vein. And then to discover a new one today! What joy and what a smile…
January 28, 2010 at 1:24 am
She is beautifull. Not only very sexy but her whole attitude is glowing.
January 28, 2010 at 2:32 am
i love alessandra!
January 28, 2010 at 5:17 am
Anyone know who the jackets is by?
Great skirt! I love the sticking-out-pockets look.
January 28, 2010 at 5:22 am
This is just fantastic, is she married:)?
January 28, 2010 at 6:49 am
How amazing she is, killer outfit
January 28, 2010 at 7:30 am
Even with the legs and shoes, the thing that pulls this all together and makes it work is her great smile :)
She has a natural beauty that you captured well!
Stop by and see me on the Wall of Jewels!
January 28, 2010 at 9:06 am
She is my favorite! Keep covering the ineffable Alessandra…
January 28, 2010 at 9:40 am

January 28, 2010 at 10:07 am
I want to see more of her.I like her mix of No Wave and YSL.
January 28, 2010 at 11:40 am
January 28, 2010 at 2:10 pm
I think women like her definitely balance out the platform wearing, fur adorned, overdressed "fashionistas". Her style seems quirky, casual, smart, androgynous, overall understandable and I really like her. She definitely inspires meand I'd like to know who she is.Does anyone have a clue?
January 28, 2010 at 2:41 pm
i love the way she's smiling, and it still looks stylish, posh, and fashionforward. alot of fashionable people today just don't smile in photography shots ….a smile is a fashion statement in itself. she's very gorgeous.
visit my up and coming blog
i love your blog!
January 28, 2010 at 3:17 pm
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shot. She seems genuinely happy. Her legs are already endless but her ability to wear heels makes them actually go on forever. Beautiful shot.
January 28, 2010 at 3:38 pm
i am a guy who in love with shoes, and her shoes can make any man feel so tempted to stare at her..she looks sexy with that shoes

January 28, 2010 at 10:29 pm
Mini Mouse!!! Love it.
January 29, 2010 at 1:47 am
This sort of personal confidence is of the utmost importance. When considering culture and all that goes into its creation there is nothing more important than the self expression of such personalities.
January 29, 2010 at 2:17 am
What's her name? Is she a fashion editor or smth? love sartorialist so much…best pictures that show the best style of peopleXOXO
Kiss Me Cruz
January 29, 2010 at 10:55 am
Splendid! Very sexy in a masculine yet soft way.

love everything except the pockets.
January 29, 2010 at 12:25 pm
She's very pretty! I like much
January 29, 2010 at 1:06 pm
I love how her YSLs and long legs draw your attention first making you really appreciate the entire look.
January 29, 2010 at 1:57 pm
lovely lovely jacket!
January 29, 2010 at 2:21 pm
looking a touch more feminine than we usually see alessandra. she always looks fantastic.
i'm surprised by the heels but the pockets peeking out give this outfit a lovely personal touch.
it's official; i'm in love.
January 29, 2010 at 2:49 pm
Beautiful lady, beautiful clothes and an even more beautiful smile.
January 29, 2010 at 3:05 pm
I think she is incredibly dull and overated and not even heels like that could make her look like more of a woman
January 29, 2010 at 4:52 pm
It all looks simple and casual, then keep spotting different interesting things going on, but it still looks effortless – that's class isn't it!
January 29, 2010 at 5:29 pm
hot legs. and excellent black nail polish.
January 29, 2010 at 7:33 pm
I love this look, her hair cut and dark color nails really make it complete.
January 29, 2010 at 8:40 pm
let's not drink the kool aid people – the pockets sticking out are just silly
January 30, 2010 at 3:41 am
yes her personality def shines!!! she manages to look cool without holding back her smiles/innocent expressions!!!
January 30, 2010 at 2:52 pm
love the look…..great shooooooz!
January 30, 2010 at 10:12 pm
I love her so much… If she appears wearing nothing i would say she is amazing anyway….. those heels breaks all the androginy masculine style weve been seein lately….. i see somethin la roux ish… on her semblant…. this pic's vibe is great… rock on
January 31, 2010 at 12:42 pm
I can look at her for hours without blinking. No, no ordinary words can describe her.
January 31, 2010 at 4:30 pm
Interesting style but this is a man, the proportions are male.

I like to see leggings under mini-skirts. Looks sexy without being too slutty. (Not that I really mind girls dressing slutty.) Besides the shoes, the outfit looks fun. The shoes are nice, they just seem too serious. And I think the pockets are cute.

LOOK AT THOSE FUCKIN' SHOES, MAN! Seriously, the silhouette of the black tights/black shoes makes this outfit for me. Awesome.

I LOVE this girl. She always looks so completely attractive managing to shine through that thin veil of androgyny. very sexy, although this time the pockets are too underwear malfunction looking and in that role they are too well placed iykwim

My name is Alessandra too! I adore her style. I love the jacket and the pockets peeking out of the denim skirt. The nylons and the heels are perfect too!

She looks like she should be holding a dachsund! I love her. I love her rolled up denim skirt (and I usually can't stand denim) and her poking out pockets. :) Loveable and free.

What I find most attractive about this shot is how her tights blend into her shoes so effortlessly, instantly creating even longer legs that end with a sort of quirky perfection

I don´t think she is androginous at all!! She is absolutly femenine and so sexy.
And she´s always laughing…
