Hmmmm, I like the plaid and the man shawl, but maybe a different hat? He looks rather "Swiss Fmily Robinson"
February 8, 2010 at 9:51 am
beautiful smile, so genuine. Love his eyes. His man shawl is very chic.
February 8, 2010 at 9:52 am
I love the expression on the man's face!!! Looooove it!
And the jacket, love it too!
February 8, 2010 at 9:57 am
le lapin amoureux
his face radiates such warmness… far warmer than the shawl
February 8, 2010 at 9:59 am
Oh, that's fab. And also the Lord of the Rings type hat. Nice!
February 8, 2010 at 10:08 am
a quiet graceful confidence
the colours perfectly combined
February 8, 2010 at 10:09 am
When you have a great salt and pepper beard, you can happily wear a man shawl and still look masculine.
February 8, 2010 at 10:11 am
I would like to hear this Mans story.
February 8, 2010 at 10:12 am
What a gorgeous man. Beautiful smile and the colours just light him up. He pulls the whole thing off perfectly – I can't think of many men who'd look this good with a shawl. Great photograph!
February 8, 2010 at 10:14 am
I really like the expression on his face and the coloring all around- great shot Scott!
February 8, 2010 at 10:17 am
He is so handsome! I'm sure he could wear a potato sack and look good but this look is fabulous. He looks like someone you want to cuddle up with and stay warm! :)
February 8, 2010 at 10:20 am
This is a man truly comfortable in his own skin, and thus, a magnificent specimen of manliness.
February 8, 2010 at 10:21 am

February 8, 2010 at 10:23 am

February 8, 2010 at 10:34 am
I love that man shawl!
He looks great.
February 8, 2010 at 10:35 am
A FUNNY MAN AND A GREAT ONE. LOVE IT.
February 8, 2010 at 10:40 am
love it. but obviously the man has found his style. not everybody could wear the combo hat-shawl-plaid jacket.
Great hat! I have a similar blazer, only in green!
It is my statement "boyfriend" blazer:)
February 8, 2010 at 10:41 am
Oh the shawl! and the lovely lovely smile
February 8, 2010 at 10:42 am
Gorgeous jacket! I'm practically green with envy.
February 8, 2010 at 10:44 am
such a genuine face – wonderful to see it captured in an image!
February 8, 2010 at 10:49 am
Only thing I like about the hat is his face beaming out from under it. And that's definitely worth a photo for a Monday–good vibes for the week. Love the jacket, but not the man-shawl.
February 8, 2010 at 10:50 am
He looks like such a great person with a genuine smile. You could definitely trust him. I love the way he has his shawl around him and how it matches with the beautiful colors in his coat. xo
February 8, 2010 at 10:51 am
His smile (I think his entire face is smiling) just made my day.
Shawl over suit coat= brilliant
February 8, 2010 at 10:54 am
Happy! Handsome! Love this Photo!

It is hardly a pauper. is very handsome and elegant.
February 8, 2010 at 11:14 am
This is one of my favourite shots – maybe my favourite. I'll bet he's some kid's nonno, and he delights in being a terrific grandfather. His face is perfectly weathered. I would love to know what shoes he's wearing!

February 8, 2010 at 11:15 am
This man seems to have such a happy spirit! And he's really handsome too. Agree with that one. I also love the shawl he's wearing and the wonderful combination of colors. It gives you a warm feeling.
February 8, 2010 at 11:22 am
The good old sartorialis.. And I love his hat
February 8, 2010 at 11:25 am
Hey, I'd date him.
February 8, 2010 at 11:26 am
i think he should be my new boyfriend, but alas, i'm in los angeles

February 8, 2010 at 11:28 am
Word of caution: While I love the look, this gentleman is obviously in the rag trade at some point, which is evident by the brilliant color match between his jacket and the scarf/shawl. The cut of the jacket is superb, and so is the hat. I doubt there are many of us that are so fastidious or knowledgeable about our clothes, that might be able to pull this off. I love it on him! Jorge from WPB
February 8, 2010 at 11:31 am
oooh la la. love his happy, flappy style! he's beautiful!
February 8, 2010 at 11:33 am
How wonderful. I have only seen one other gentleman mastering the man shawl; Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes.
must be cold. great style is the optimal matching of form & function. like this. and the coats on some of the older women you've recently photographed. mature enough not to suffer the cold for fashion, but carrying the look (big coat, puffy jacket) with grace and elan.
February 8, 2010 at 11:39 am
Such beautiful color !!
john benjamin pritchett
Love the focus on hats-much like the shot from Barcelona a few days back! Always looking for a great jacket and this is it!johnbenjaminpritchett.blogspot.com
this is so nice, men in India wear shawls a lot, so this kind of reminds me of my grandpa :)

i want to snuggle with him!
February 8, 2010 at 11:52 am
Not into the accessories, but he is handsome. What an expression and a connection there – great photo!
February 8, 2010 at 11:54 am
what makes Rabensteiner such an amazing dresser is how he always manages to wear his remarkable ensembles with such lightness. Dressing up often stiffens a person, but as his clothes are truly an extension of his personality, they flow from the same relaxed, confident place. A total inspiration.
February 8, 2010 at 11:57 am
the shawl doesn't seem half as bold to me as the hat does because it works so naturally with the jacket. the hat is out there but i really like it, the smile really brings the whole look together. it's hard not to like someone with a genuine smile.
February 8, 2010 at 12:11 pm
great earthly tones
February 8, 2010 at 12:13 pm
i want his hat x
February 8, 2010 at 12:22 pm
i'm going to do this.
February 8, 2010 at 12:26 pm
He looks great!
February 8, 2010 at 12:30 pm
Perfect… the hat, the beard, the shawl! He looks like an author!
DOES ANYONE KNEW WHERE TO FIND HIS FELT FISHERMAN HAT, like the one's shown in Burberry's Sp 09 Collection. They never sold them!!
So very masculine, so super sexy!!! To me this man is a great erotic turn on. He is so comfortably self-assured and so comfortably unconventional that I can only dream about what would happen when wrapped up in warm blanket on a cold February night with this man. Thank you, excellent portraiture!!!!
February 8, 2010 at 12:41 pm
I´m in love with this eyes . Who is this man ? I like him . Where does he live ? How is his name ? I really like him . I really like his smile . Who is this man ?
February 8, 2010 at 12:43 pm
It's not the clothes – it's the smile
February 8, 2010 at 12:50 pm
What I like is how the orange/pink colour of the jacket matches the warm colour in his face.
Today´s smart pilgrim
February 8, 2010 at 12:56 pm
What a chic outfit (love a man that can carry off a scarf/shawl) and he's wearing the best accessory of all: that smile!
This is HAPPINESS . My favourite picture .

He's not quite any man on the street. He's Stylist Robert Rabensteiner.
February 8, 2010 at 1:16 pm
Terrific! Great character!
February 8, 2010 at 1:17 pm
I have a crush on this man! My husband owns a jacket like his and it's great. The scarf looks fab, and the hat is a fun touch.
February 8, 2010 at 1:31 pm
When I read the title "Man Shawl" on my blogroll…I thought, "Oh NO…this will never work!"
But when I saw the picture…"He's definitely workin' it!!
I don't like the hat though.
February 8, 2010 at 1:33 pm
Lovely man – what a smile!

February 8, 2010 at 1:48 pm
I love his style and energy. I bet he orders the best drinks and tells the best stories.
February 8, 2010 at 2:10 pm
I've seen a hat like this before and I'm willing to be that it was once a very expensive hat – an old boyfriend of mine did that to a beautiful fedora – took the band off and hobo-ed it – much to my father's dismay (he had given it to him!)
who is the eternal worrier?
February 8, 2010 at 2:40 pm
Wow, he looks so warm and friendly!
February 8, 2010 at 2:54 pm
where on earth did they dig up this charming old man?
February 8, 2010 at 2:56 pm
'man-shawl' sure sounds (and looks) better than 'man-brawl'.
you hear me, men?!
don't brawl! wear a shawl!
February 8, 2010 at 3:04 pm
Great face, amazing teeth, warm jacket and smile. The hat? Not my favorite, but then again, I'm fussy about hats.

February 8, 2010 at 3:06 pm
He has such happy eyes.
February 8, 2010 at 3:14 pm
he is that one relative you ARE looking forward to seeing on holiday~
February 8, 2010 at 3:50 pm
Lovely look but nothing new, in Pakistan, especially in the cold months all men of "a certain age" wrap up in shawls over their clothes to keep out the cold. Nice to see this trend, and turbans for ladies making it Westwards though! x
February 8, 2010 at 3:55 pm
this man is adorable
February 8, 2010 at 4:09 pm
February 8, 2010 at 4:13 pm
The hat may be beyond re-blocking. It makes him look homeless, even though the jacket says otherwise.
February 8, 2010 at 4:22 pm
Mr Sart. Nice to see a "manly" man with a shawl! Great hat too. But it his smile that stands out above all else. And I love the colours in his beard. xxx
February 8, 2010 at 4:46 pm
oh! i love it!!
February 8, 2010 at 4:48 pm
February 8, 2010 at 5:00 pm
I love him! I love the shawl, I love him in the shawl! :)

Just found this blog and love the great sartorial styles! Smart and confident grandfather with that warm and happy smile, and a hat I want to wear for my grandsons too :)
February 8, 2010 at 5:24 pm
February 8, 2010 at 5:31 pm
Robert Rabensteiner is always nice to see, his style is great..here the matching colors. And if you are a man with a beard, you can wear a slightly feminine scarf…and look cool manly, thats it. On me i doesn't work.
February 8, 2010 at 5:41 pm
that weathered hat was made for his face! beautiful
February 8, 2010 at 5:42 pm

February 8, 2010 at 6:27 pm
chic as ever.
February 8, 2010 at 6:30 pm
I like both looks on these shawlmen. Great colors and textures. The younger gents anchor sweater is divine. The mature gent's jacket looks fab with his fisherman's hat and beard — very sophisticated with a seasoned sexiness.
February 8, 2010 at 8:14 pm
Looks like Philip K. Dick, the sci-fi writer. But yeah, good look. On him.
February 8, 2010 at 9:03 pm
Here we go again. How perfect! I love the scarf, I love the tonality of the browns. I love the beard, the hair, the scarf! Perfection. Men are so beautiful, all of them.
February 8, 2010 at 9:17 pm
love his smile and the colors!!! he reminds me of my grandpa a lot :)
ps. this might sound weird but i think this gent's got really nice teeth for his age.
February 8, 2010 at 9:49 pm
haven't you shot him before? he's so incredibly ________ …(i don't have the word for it – enticing? charming? alluring? nothing seems to fit perfectly)
February 8, 2010 at 9:50 pm
Walt Whitman with an extra ounce of style. Love it!
February 8, 2010 at 9:52 pm
OK I love this man!!!!SO, SEXY!!!I love the beard!!!Let's just say he could wear anything and I would say "Very Pleased to meet you"!!!!
February 8, 2010 at 10:15 pm
Man!I just love how this guy's entire face seems to be saying:
"Wow. You know how long I've been waiting to be approached by you, Scott?! I can't believe it's finally happening . . . and on the day that I'm wearing one of my favorite outfits too. You've made my day, buddy."
Looks like a guy who'd say "buddy."Looks like a guy who'd make MY day!
February 8, 2010 at 10:23 pm
I love the hat and scarf together, they look so a part of him. And his blatant happiness in that moment is beautiful.
February 8, 2010 at 10:58 pm
Ohh I simply love this! What a charming fellow. I'd like to sit down and hear his story – he seems to know tales of enchantment and intrigue! His hat is also my favorite. It adds so much character and without it the outfit would just add to the daily humdrum.
February 8, 2010 at 10:59 pm
The hat is just too much… but he does look like fun!
February 9, 2010 at 1:17 am
it totally works! on cold nights, i used to wrap my girlfriend's pashmina shall over my jean jacket whenever i got too lazy to wear my long coats.
February 9, 2010 at 1:52 am
so goregeous! =)
February 9, 2010 at 1:53 am
LoL, If I dressed like that I'd look like a homeless in rags… this man's confidence and espirit what makes it such a stylish statement.

February 9, 2010 at 5:58 am
santa clause on holiday? :)
February 9, 2010 at 6:48 am
I would love to see the rest of the blazer. Judging by its cut at the front, it is inspired by the jackets men used to wear in the 1920s in a similar vein as the narrower trouser leg and ankle-height hem.
February 9, 2010 at 7:25 am
What a dish, and such a beautiful combination of browns and textures.
February 9, 2010 at 7:49 am
This time is the 3rd time You put the photo of this man on your blog :)This man is absolutely very handsome, and has the smile, which can't be missed (oh, such a smile can melt a heart in a second :)… anyway He likes scarfs but most of all he loves head-dressing.
Oh, I just adore his effortles, very Italian alike attitude: "I am cool as a cat" :))I could propose to him just like that :)
February 9, 2010 at 7:55 am
i think i may get up and look at this face every morning. he looks so happy and kind and he's great looking! love his style, too. wish i knew this guy.
February 9, 2010 at 8:53 am
If he were my husband I would entreat him to get rid of that awful old hat, that beard, and that shawl! Underneath I can just about make out a gorgeous handsome man.
February 9, 2010 at 9:33 am
Are you kidding? This is my statement for the month. Are you kidding? He is fabulous, I'd follow him anywhere. The hat is what makes his outfit. How bold of him to wear such a great hat. And this shawl thing, love it. Love it!
February 9, 2010 at 10:43 am
The shawl & hat look wonderful on this man. BUT his best accessories are his kind smile and the warmth in his eyes!
February 9, 2010 at 11:16 am
A bit more orange and brown, methink. It's all the rage these days, isn't it?
February 9, 2010 at 2:30 pm
great smile, but her smile and eyes are the best :)
February 9, 2010 at 4:26 pm
What an attractive man!
He looks quite comfortable with himself, his years, his style.
His smile says it all…
February 9, 2010 at 4:45 pm
Who is this dapper gentleman?
February 9, 2010 at 6:10 pm
I just visited North India and Kashmir and all the men wear their shawls like that!
February 10, 2010 at 2:47 am
brown and orange
February 10, 2010 at 5:18 am
LOVE this man! So handsome and healthy! And also he has that amazing style! GORGEOUS!
February 10, 2010 at 5:57 am
I definitely agree with my foreposters: great smile, great guy. The plaid of his jacket is just fantastic, as is the hat…i'm not so sure about the shawl, but he seems to be comfortable with it.
Great guy, great shot.
February 10, 2010 at 6:51 am
love the photo, makes me want to put on a man-shawl, too … and i'm a woman!
February 10, 2010 at 8:29 am

February 10, 2010 at 8:58 am

love his hat!
February 10, 2010 at 2:03 pm
Couldn't help but smile – warm fuzzy like.
February 10, 2010 at 3:04 pm
I love this photograph! Look at those eyes, that smile, the warmth and richness of the colours in his jacket, the scarf, the hat….right down to the gorgeous box of green behind him. Looks like he is sporting a tan, he has travelled…to where? I imagine a beach in the South Pacific and he was wearing a sarong…walking the beach, enjoying life…this is fun! Great shot :)

I bet he has a wonderful family! His hat looks so comfortable and he smiles with his eyes so naturally.

Such a perfectly inviting man. He could wear anything. The focus is his charisma.
February 13, 2010 at 6:36 pm
gorgeous man,clothes and photo
February 14, 2010 at 10:23 pm
He looks like someone who would live in a really beautiful old cottage in the mountains somewhere and be really well read. I want to have dinner with him!

What a beautiful smile!

I mentioned the "man shawl" and people began to laugh at me. I guess I'll have to get one and wear it, then they'll see how cool it is and they will want one too!
