love this, pictures always tell a thousand words, mother with children, old money, just back from vacation tans, love her style(classic but screams money and style), their style, impeccable, which they got from her. Pictures tell a thousand and this one did, great shot!

Mr Sart. I remember when I was backpacking around Europe in 1987 (sheesh I'm an oldie) and arriving in Italy and feeling soooo shabby cos EVERYONE is gorgeous and so well put together. Just like these three. Love the jacket with the gold buttons especially.
I have a one question, sometimes i walk around the city and see something exordinary beautiful clothes or piece of jewellery that someone wears, i usually just ask them where did they buy the items from. Do you do the same?
In descending order from left to right.. 1st guy looks really good, love the jacket (Moncler?)and the laid-back style. Second guy ok,great shoes but you know it wouldn't hurt you to smile. Or at least look like this is the last place on earth you want to be in. The mother(?) just looks like a tent. A monochrome, shapeless tent. Sorry.
Wow! I really love that double breasted jacket on the man to the left of the picture! It's definitely original and something I have never seen before! I also like the brown shoes or boots on the man in the middle! I have been searching for a pair just like that lately. His cardigan is also really chic. check out my trendy blog! http://thetrendydwarf.blogspot.com/
The puffer-peacoat kind of looks like the thom browne down filled sports coat. Only a bit more conservative, not in a bad way though! Does anybody know the maker of those coats?
they look like the italian jonas brothers! but more laid back of course. also- I have to add a comment regarding the picture of kanye west you posted the other day. Love him or hate him, he matters, and he's involved in the style world. The over the top fur was perfect I thought.
This family is so Milano, so chic. I think the guy on the left and his mother are both wearing Moncler. Such a great label, very European and always adds an air of effortless chic to an outfit.
Wow! I don't generally comment on your photos but this one struck me so much that I simply had to. I suppose it's because most of your photos are utterly beautiful, but so very fantastic and removed from my life that I find it difficult to draw any inspiration from them.
This photo, on the other hand, is immediately inspiring. Not only is a brilliant example of casual Italian style (yeeeeah, Italian fashion editors in sky high heels look beautiful but they also make me despair), and I feel like I could learn something from each of them just by looking at all the little details they've added to their outfits to give them a little extra interest. From the hair to the shoes, I feel like every time I look at this photo I see new things. A definite favourite! I only wish the photo were even bigger so I could see even MORE details!
I don't think I would look that upset with two beautiful and beautifully dress boys at my side! In love with loverboy on the left. I want a quilted, Michelin Man navy jacket with glorious gold buttons :)
What a fashionable trio — genetically linked perhaps? I like that they're not smiling. Love the cutie's jacket on the left and the woman's big bag and flared trousers.
And the kick is, some of these young dudes put together a look on very little money thanks to places like Coin and Upim and the anonymous little mom and pop clothing shops that abound in Milano. Gorley
She is a stunning representation of a "real" mom. Beautiful just as she is. Ready for the day, a day out with two charming men. Perhaps amazing boys that may have caused a sleepy night or two times two. dealshoppingmom
The men are wearing interesting shoes. The one on the left has an interesting peacoat style quilted or perhaps down jacket which I have not seen before. The momma's bag almost looks like a new style barrister's bag.
Are they somehow connected with Moncler as stated in the previous comments???? They all wear Moncler jackets… Gamme bleu on the left and gamme rouge on the right!
Most of all, I think this supposed family has a stylish attitude, they don't really care If someone thinks their stylish and that's what I believe you saw in them.
Oh yeah! GREAT PICTURE – quite sociologically oriented… I bet she is "mamma italiana" with her two adult sons (however – for her – still little cute boys ;p, of course spoiled by her overwhelming love:D)… Their poses, their style, their subtle but visible individuality created in wardrobe details are wonderful. I do still think, when comparing Italy to France that French are more "bcbg" and Italians are better in "casual / everyday" elegance / paying attention to be always aesthetically perfect.
uhm..at first glance I thought "are those the Jonas Brothers"..didn't let that 1st impression stop me from loving the gold buttoned peacoat, plaid adorned shoes and that bag..that bag…
EVERYONE, THAT IS THE THOM BROWNE FOR the ski wear company. I saw that jacket at Bergdorfs and it was some 4000 dollars. It looks good on him but I'm 6'3 and it was too short for me. Cool to see the american designer doing well in italy.
Beautiful people…often times I am more captured by the people's faces that you photograph than the clothes/fashions that they are wearing…you have an amazing gift!
Everyone always said to me before I went to Italy how well dressed people were. And don't get me wrong, they were. In a classic, traditional and tasteful way. But the monotony of the outfits was disappointing. This photo reminds me of that because these folks are wearing what 90% of people wear in Italy. (Puffy jacket for the young guys…check!) After a while I yearned for more individualism. I hope you can find and catch some of that in your Italy photos, Scott.
great real mum shot. love it. i see myself here. jacket that works 'cause it's cold. scarf. no lipstick. unfussy hair. i'm still loving flares! boots! & it just looks great. downplayed, real, unfussy & chic. love the look that says, 'yes take the photo, but i've got to get moving with my day'.and that bit of determination that's brought up two lovely stylish young men.
Thank you Anonymous 5:58! Was just about to write the same…. they are outfitted superbly in Moncler (makes sense doesn't it?) And I just returned from Milano and it's freezing. The mom's jacket may look tentlike but with some style, no? I bet she is so warm…. Much better style than some of the acrylic fleeces I see around DC.
What always amazes me the most it is not the clothes, but your talent to capture 'the soul'. This people could easily be the characters of Vermeer's paintings.
omg who knew the world could be sooo small!! i know the guy on the left , he used to go to my school in London! haha… love it, love the pic, the the outfits.
