Ah! The value of investment pieces! I love how everything she is wearing she will be able to wear stylishly for a long time. Everyone is trying to be green while at the same time consuming fast fashion. Any ideas of how much energy is used to create a simple tshirt? This outfit is chic, simple, and classic.
February 1, 2010 at 4:01 pm
Lovely. Just the type of crisp, clean, buttondown look I always lust after yet cannot attain because I'm entirely too zaftig/milchmaidy to pull it off.
Waw! The perfect detail of this look is the LV bag, it's a-mazing!!!!!!!!

What a lovely young woman. I have seen myself on 'What Not to Wear' so this is quite an interesting blog for me ;)
February 1, 2010 at 4:08 pm
Very simple, but chic. Work it.
February 1, 2010 at 4:11 pm
I love the big red bag. What a big bold pop of color! xo
February 1, 2010 at 4:12 pm

Oh man, I want that purse.
February 1, 2010 at 4:15 pm
SUCH a beautiful bag!
February 1, 2010 at 4:16 pm
that handbag might catch your eye, but those shoes are the true gems of an otherwise conservative outfit. Amazing.
February 1, 2010 at 4:17 pm
thats a ginger bag=)
February 1, 2010 at 4:18 pm
Very chic…and yet, on her or anybody else I can't stand the natural color showing on the roots, especially when the hair is dyed to such an extremely unnatural color. Hair coloring should be one's own, only a little better. Maybe it's her way of expressing a wild side, by going for a bright red mane.
love her. so simple and striking.
I love the patent leather theme going on in her look. The flat shoes and the pop of color from the patent LV Vernis.
February 1, 2010 at 4:19 pm

This coat falls perfectly on her.

Tremendously elegant! Well done, Scott, I love the way those über-chic bag and patent shoes match the traffic lights. One of your best shots ever. :)
February 1, 2010 at 4:36 pm
love the bag's colour and her brogules. She has some haircolour similar to mine. But I pull it off better. The bag erases the boring classic look.

Her bag adds such life to an otherwise gloomy color story.

Love her coat!!!!!! I want to get one exactly like it…Her shoes are great too!
Very good pics from Milano.
Carmen from Argentina
Love the composition, with the two splashes of red light echoing the Vuitton. Otherwise, I'm not a huge fan of that look altogether. Except for the shoes, which are just perfect.
that bag..that bag..sigh..that bag! And the coat is wonderful as well – just can't get pass my fear of patent leather shoes… but I get the bag-shoe connection..
February 1, 2010 at 4:44 pm
oooh, those shoes! what are they? love how the red LV bag pops out
Can't stop looking at this!
February 1, 2010 at 4:45 pm

The bag, so RED! Nice.
February 1, 2010 at 5:20 pm
this is wonderful.
February 1, 2010 at 5:27 pm
Clean, classic… the bag is such a wonderful statement piece, and, as mentioned above, paired with the red traffic light it's just brilliant photography!! Beautiful!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++IMAGINE ! : SHE WEARS A RED TIE , AND RED SHOES TOO… RED AS THE WONDER L.V !
February 1, 2010 at 5:40 pm
Love this look! The shoes look like some I have which are by Bloch, the people who make ballet slippers. Mine feel like ballet slippers but look like these. Perfect.
What a beautiful woman.
February 1, 2010 at 5:42 pm
the juxtaposition of the coat color versus bag is beautiful.
February 1, 2010 at 5:45 pm
i actually really don't like this look… there are too many textures that are too similar, like the bag with the shoes i really find distracting…
February 1, 2010 at 5:47 pm
Double breasted is back! Amazing bag
February 1, 2010 at 5:49 pm
Dig the bag.xsnappy
I am dying to peek under that divine coat and see what she is wearing beneath it. The clash of the red hair and the red bag is somehow enhanced and also softened by the colour of the coat. Very interesting.
February 1, 2010 at 5:56 pm
I love the patent red Louis Vuitton…glorious color and just adds the right amount of pop!
February 1, 2010 at 6:14 pm
Great outfit and sense of style.
February 1, 2010 at 6:24 pm
the bag is just the right pop of colour for the outfit; i'm loving it!
February 1, 2010 at 6:26 pm
amazing louis vuitton bag that i simply would love to have.. but also love the black shiny patent leather shoes… great look
February 1, 2010 at 6:34 pm

February 1, 2010 at 7:39 pm
Love her red hair and the red bag!]
February 1, 2010 at 7:48 pm
The Alma is a great pop of color against the rest of her neutral outfit.
February 1, 2010 at 7:58 pm
Love the splash of colour her handbag gives her outfit.
February 1, 2010 at 8:15 pm
bisous from France
February 1, 2010 at 8:37 pm
She looks like a character from Harry Potter! I love her hair, her coat, and for dure the LV bag!
February 1, 2010 at 9:02 pm
Red, great on her head and her bag. Wish I could pull off the camel color like she can.
February 1, 2010 at 9:12 pm
the bag! that pop of color is too cute–gives a happy, quirky feel to the utilitarian clean lines that make up the rest of the ensemble.
February 1, 2010 at 9:37 pm
As a natural strawberry blonde I'll never understand why anyone would want to dye their hair red. It is the color that only looks good on those born with it.
February 1, 2010 at 9:48 pm
the shape of the LV is lovely.

February 1, 2010 at 9:54 pm
I am really liking the patent shoes and bad. Hmm a red patent Louis. Very chic! I love that coat on her too!
February 1, 2010 at 10:37 pm
great red bag!
February 1, 2010 at 11:09 pm
Her face is subtly beautiful while her bag screams for attention (it is beautiful). Fabulous picture, i like the people and movement happening behind her while she is so still and elegant.

February 2, 2010 at 2:21 am
omg! i'm so in love with her LV.
February 2, 2010 at 4:21 am
Camel again, but of a paler shade. Simply love it. And I love the place where you took the pic. I used to work really near there, down Via Brera. Caffe' Garibaldi, the yellow building just behind the woman was my first touch with reality in the morning, before the office. Thank you Mr. Sartorialist for letting me remember this..
February 2, 2010 at 4:24 am
a bit stuffy for my taste, despite the bright red hair and bag.
February 2, 2010 at 4:45 am
wow! I have the same bag but in blue! Love her red hair!
February 2, 2010 at 4:51 am
This is just perfect, the coeat is adorable, and the shoes…

February 2, 2010 at 5:13 am
The message is: if you travel to Italy, you need a camel coat!!
February 2, 2010 at 5:42 am
The red bag, has a big contrast
February 2, 2010 at 6:03 am
That's the way I like it :) She looks just great in every single detail : chic, elegant, appriopriate, and outstanding due to the spectacular bag
February 2, 2010 at 6:06 am
i like this picture a lot, with the bag and the traffic lights…BUT i think accessoires shouldn't dominate the whole outfit, you should!and here definitely the bag steals all the attention from the woman…
February 2, 2010 at 6:09 am
i am getting a red bag, now!!
February 2, 2010 at 6:23 am
Such a great attitude for that Vuitton bag. So minimal and still so chic!
February 2, 2010 at 6:44 am
Yes the bag is great BUT for me the story is all about the coat (such a great cut) and the earrings…
February 2, 2010 at 6:48 am
I love the coat. Pure elegance! Sometimes double-breasted coats tend to be "too much", but not this one. This is so clean and it really looks it's made of excellent quality wool. I want to touch it!

Her bag is amazing!
February 2, 2010 at 8:13 am
The bag is incredible.
February 2, 2010 at 8:22 am
To: Jorge from W Palm Beach, thank you for reminding us of the green aspect in fashion…. we do need to find alternatives to consuming lots of one season pieces and then discarding them without considering the energy consumption involved. Btw, I always enjoy your comments Jorge, they have been consistently smart and helpful to my untrained fashion eye, so thank you!!Scott… love the four red points, bag, hair, lights!!!

February 2, 2010 at 8:52 am
Thank you for postin a picture of a woman who works in an office environment. The pictures or people dressed for concervative work places are very rare on this blog which makes sense. Sometimes the only way you can stand out is a really great bag.
February 2, 2010 at 8:56 am
I'm curious–is the stoplight on the right Photoshopped in? It seems to be on the side of the traffic light and too obvious a compositional add on.
February 2, 2010 at 9:03 am
classic. Timeless. She will have these beautiful "rags" even in 20 years! really nice photo, Scott.
February 2, 2010 at 9:21 am
What a beautiful photo! The bag, the hair and lights are so engaging for the eyes. Love her classic look – her shoes are fantastic.

February 2, 2010 at 10:15 am
Beautiful color! I bought the same LV bag but in blue!

Is there any better investment than a camel coat? Time and time again it proves to worth its weight in gold!

February 2, 2010 at 10:49 am
The bag is what catches my eye
February 2, 2010 at 11:01 am
I think the bag is silly. But I have something of an aversion to most Louis Vuitton. She does carry it well with her simple outfit.
February 2, 2010 at 11:12 am
I love the coat. Classic and elegant, yet understated.
February 2, 2010 at 11:16 am
Red hot lava…in ice.
February 2, 2010 at 12:15 pm
Wow, this chick stole my clothes..except the Louis Vuitton bag..she can keep t though it's not really my style. My clothes look great on her.
February 2, 2010 at 12:58 pm
I like how both the traffic light and the bag say Stop at the same time! Was it planned or by chance?
February 2, 2010 at 1:43 pm
The more I scrutinize the photo, the less I like the bag. That is pretty. However, it is out of scale to the woman carrying it both in size (if a handbag) and because of its size, it is out of scale in color, too. I'm not writing about bag matching shoes. The bag should be an accessory to the woman and never the main focus. When an accessory is the focus, it detracts from the woman, and the woman is primary.
February 2, 2010 at 1:48 pm
Goes to show that an investment piece is worth it!
February 2, 2010 at 1:53 pm
cool handbag but clasic at the same time….i want it!!!
February 2, 2010 at 2:45 pm
wow, she mixed French, British and Italian style with her own sence of fashion… the fact is: it seems 2 be a little bit crazy, bt isn't she kinda wonderful?
February 2, 2010 at 3:33 pm
The bag could possibly be way too obvious! In fact, the composition of the photograph is a little obvious too: contrasting the buzzing background with the utter silence of the woman and her outfit, and then bang! Patent red leather Vuitton. It's a little unimaginative, but damn does it look striking.
February 2, 2010 at 4:54 pm
Shes so beautiful yet akward. Love her sense of style, so effortless. :)
February 2, 2010 at 6:03 pm
It's all about the bag…the colour is perfect and it is quite discreet for a LV.http://www.christinevieira.com/blog
February 2, 2010 at 7:30 pm
I love classic looks. She look put together and the pieces are timeless. She added a modern trendy twist with the orangy red louis vuitton bag and loafer :)

February 2, 2010 at 8:28 pm
it's NOT all about the bag. It does not matter WHO made the bag. It is HOW the PERSONALITY is projecting. Sometimes it is a bag, sometimes it is shoes, hats or something else. People , there is MORE to fashion then "the bag is GOURGE!". Fashion is expression, not a NAME, a tag or a price. THAT is a true art.
February 2, 2010 at 8:44 pm
AMAZING!!! that bag = so cute!!! Outfit soooooo cute. come visit http://www.phashionable.com and tell me what you think?

She could stop traffic with that bag. gorgeous.
February 3, 2010 at 12:38 am
The LV bag -Alma vernis is so stunning that ignoring her nice camel wool peacoat, and probably she would like to mix and match with her red hair.
February 3, 2010 at 1:21 am
everything about this looks amazing. so classy, with a twist of modern. respect.
February 3, 2010 at 9:34 am

She looks fantastic. So poised and put together, but in a classic unforced way. I am glad now that I purchased an enormous "Known Brand" rich black leather bag for the Fall/Winter season. It cost way too much, but the longer I carry it, the better I like it and don't see how I ever got along carrying anything smaller. So the saying goes~ You get what you pay for. Besides, when you have a bag this large you can fit anything into it. I feel kind of eccentric when I stuff my pilates clothing into the bag so I can work out later when I'm on the go and know I won't make it back home to change before class. I kind of like this feeling, nobody knows but me. Hah!

i love her bag, but that's about it.
February 4, 2010 at 7:24 am
Not fair. This lady has everything in propotion. Colours schemes, gloss when needed, great shape, boldness and the perfect face that invites curiousity…as if to say she knows a lot mopre than we do in an unsnobby way.
With the roots showing through the dyed ginger hair. I look at this as punk girl who knows how to tread both worlds.. and to be chic in every world. Pure class.
February 4, 2010 at 9:38 am
Bright and sleek
February 4, 2010 at 9:46 am
I adore the triangle of red – the bag and the two stop lights – what a photograph. Ok, and I am having a covetous fit over the bag itself. sign.
February 4, 2010 at 3:59 pm
Anyone who needs such a tasteless bag (as expensive as e.g. an african childs complete higher education) for proving her style is a rather poor human being.
February 5, 2010 at 7:33 am
Trench coat is always gorgeous. The red bag is a special toch in the look. Elegant and modern.
February 5, 2010 at 9:33 pm
