Perhaps an appreciation of signage, typography and design. I love the homemade quality, the little imperfections and the overall grace of this simple sign–a bit of vintage, a bit of the old Futurism. I’ve taken pictures of signs like this in Rome. I find them to be a unique element of the city.

Cool shot! The lack of daylight picture gives it a really mysterious effect, as well as the bolted metal doorway.

What are we lookin’ at here? Cool font? Some fancy brand I don’t know? The pain of seeking out a special store in a new city only to find that it’s closed up for siesta time…?

I think that though it is closed, we are looking at the kind of store where you can spend hours and hours going through little boxes containing all type of things for sewing and knitting. It’s like, I want to see what’s inside! Open the shop NOW! The sign is pretty impressive as well :)

I think also thread, needles, buttons, sequins, and many many more things…all the stuff you buy to sew and fix clothes.

Itlay is full of this kind of segnage: old craft shops which craftmanship should be maintained, as they supply such products and services you are going not to find anymore in the future…

Great typography but ruined by the worst of all advertising, a voice over that can’t be stopped and appears to come from no where telling me to go to Disney Land. I appreciate the need to advertise but the voice ones are hardly the best option.
