Pattern of the dress just jumps. I like it, especially when it’s against a blank canvas.

You’re a great storyteller. The photo is part of a compelling narrative and her deliberate beauty is part of it. She’s prepared..check out that bag and those sensible sandals. We know that there will be some emotion as soon as the rendezvous occurs. Either she’ll be smiles and kisses, or she will be extremely annoyed.

The denim shirt around her waist ruins the look, and those cheap jelly-plastic shoes are rather childish. Eight year old girls wear jelly shoes with sparkles. She should put that denim shirt into her bag and allow the sun dress to show off her figure. She’s a nice looking lady.

circa 1985 … me … NYC. Same dress but yellow. Same jellies but they’d just been invented. Same haircut – same curl – same color. Canvas bag. Black rubber bracelets. A boyfriend’s tortoise wayfarers and denim jacket around my waist. Waiting for him on Prince St. to go see friends living in loft (illegally), then out to hear Cissy Houston sing at Green Street jazz club. Those were the days! Thanks for the memory :)

      Jellies existed well before 1985.
