I love that this teen is embracing her individuality (and her braces!). All of the details are so fantastic…the hat, the shoes, the berry red lip and that retro dress.

She is that elegant at 15????? OMG. If she gets any more stylish gravity is going to fail. Amazing. I had braces too at 13, and i wouldn’t have smiled like that for a photo if you paid me back then. Perfectly modern take on the 1920′s flapper.

Is it weird this picture gave me goosebumps? It takes a lot of courage to strive for such an unique look for a 15 year old. Not only her look is inspiring, so is her attitude.

Love that she is not afraid to smile big, even with braces. She is so confident and knows her style. Love the dress, esp. the black piping. The neckline is so original. The hair, the cloche–so chic, and at such a young age. Smart girl.

OMG. That dress. That hat. Those shades. And those braces.
So much fun. I wanna be 16 again :)

Seriously, the most striking thing are the black contours of the dress. Are they like drawn? They look like drawn in with a big fat marker pen. So much fun.

she is the same age as my middle son. hard to imagine that they even share the same species. she looks wonderful: his idea of dressing up is to wear clean underwear.

To see oneself as an individual at 15 is rare and beautiful. We are not one collective being called “teenager” or “soccer mom” or” senior citizen” We are all individuals and should be thrilled that we don’t have to be like anybody else. We have a choice to create from what is inside of us, as this young lady has chosen.

  46. Joseph

What I find most refreshing in her look is that it is devoid of denim and sparkle and metal and obvious sex. Kudos to her for doing her own thing. I am guessing that she has fellow classmates who secretly yearn to follow her lead in claiming their own style, but somehow don’t – or can’t.
    Brava !!!
