It's amazing how the colors in your subjects always blend so well with their surroundings… the color in the second woman's jacket is perfect with the yellow cab in the background. How do you do it?!
Is that Julia Frakes pictured first, she usually knows how to stay genuine to herself. The second is a bit boring but the coat itself looks warm and comfortable.
There's something happening lately in your blog, I don't know, there's something more spicy, more exciting than before. I love all of thoses pictures you posted today and lately. There's something about the color maybe. I love to see all those well worn colors on the people you present. And I love the styles on the 6 last photos. Great cycle.
The second, definitely more elegant than the first however hipsters and young suburbanites, the same crowd that partly ruined Burberrys by adopting their lines, have forever ruined whatever appreciation I once had for hooded garments. The hood is a classic example of how the wrong crowd can ruin a classic.
I feel like Native American prints and fabrics are starting appear more. Yesterdays Rodarte show featured washed out and western prints, also there was a Marc by Marc jacket that had the horizontal color stripes that we so often see in Native American textiles.
I am in love with the coat in the second picture (I agree with Maddie B. about Native American textiles as well.) I love the pattern, but for me its the color combination … one of my faves.
I love it. The first photo is wonderful. Her expression is priceless and I love the skirt with the green tights. Its so chic and kind of has that Mexican flare to it. The second look is also gorgeous. The coat is beautiful, and I love the colors and design on it. She is a very fashionable woman for sure.
You had a small hick-up with that ridiculous guy in the buffalo check Filson Jacket but now, you're officially back on track. Amazing mix of pattern, color, and textures. I love the creative layering winter look. Also, I'm sort of obsessed with Emerald Green.
while i tend to always love your photo-taking skills, these are some of my absolute favorite "ever day winter shifting into spring" outfits. especially the first one. i wore teal tights today, and i know its a little weird…but seeing her green ones give me more confidence!
i like it how she divides the photo so on one side there is specks of colour and its dull on the other side of the photo where she's headed. It looks like she is lighting up the streets of new york with style every step she takes!
Yes! Bright colors! The poncho and boots with tights are great! The top photo is adorable with matching purse and tights! johnbenjaminpritchett.blogspot.com
The girl in the first picture looks like Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humpfrey in Gossip Girl). I adore her outfit. Very playful but mysterious. I like her walk and smile too. You captured her at the perfect moment.
Love, love, love that hooded poncho, and everything else about her look. The tights, boots, bag, newspaper… Thank you for the great pics. I enjoy your site, even though I am in abject need of living out my internal style. :-)
stunning prints! it's so powerful colors with dark palette. Love the second photo! Are you lucky to find all inspirational styles or just know the real location to be!
Whilst I love the skirt in the first image, the second image is so captivating. I can't help but gradually stare down from her hood on her head towards the focus of the beautiful black satchel. It creates a colourful contrast to the strong black edge in her accessories.
I like both, but first "graphic chic" better. Together with pleasant outfit goes the pose / THE Personality… this lady reminds me somehow Gwen Stefani the way she smiles: mocky & saucy :)
Once again, I feel like we are going back in time a bit but with the feeling of today mixed right in. I love how certain designs, even though they could be considered over the edge or pushed into a time niche, can become timeless. I feel Ralph Lauren has a lot to do with the Americana feel of both of these outfits. Especially the blond. Color is wonderful in the dead of winter, absolutely essential as far as I'm concerned. We all need a little bit of something to brighten our spirits when the weather is bad. Shine on!
I absolutely L O V E how the woman from the second picture is dressed!!!!! wow! her coat is fabulous and combined with those black leggings and boots the look is to die for! wow,I wish I would dare to dress like that!!! andrea
the first coat is prada with what looks like a chanel "paris-moscou" pin on the pocket over a phillip lim vest and a blue chambray alexander wang collared shirt (you can tell because the sleeves are grey). not sure about the skirt but the bag looks like lanvin. also that necklace looks like the arrowhead by pamela love.
I like the details on the first photo. I love the badge put on the pocket of her coat and the shape of her coat is fantastic. Very inspiring from head to toes.
That bag in the second photo is a custom studded vintage bag and can be ordered at onfentonmyles@gmail.com! A smaller selection is also available at the Reformation boutique on 143 Ludlow in NYC.
The first one shes Amanda cutter brooks, im soore, you can tell looking to the sun glasses..they going to come on fashion soon, im soore if shes using them..shes allways know whats going to came next…
In pic #1, the coat is really interesting. It looks like it is cut to look like a man’s coat that’s been pulled over one’s head — but the shoulder isn’t out of place. So I take it this is some kind of trick hood that looks like a collar… ? ? ? Weird. Or my imagination is working overtime. I love the ethnic fabric in the other photo.

Shine on!

Both very cool. I love the lapels on the hood and how the shirt meshes with the colorful skirt.
And that smug smirk, which would normal piss me off, makes the outfit even more edgy.
Great character.

The tights really make the first outfit, makes it so much more interesting. I'd argue they're the part that makes the skirt so interesting.

the first coat is prada with what looks like a chanel "paris-moscou" pin on the pocket over a phillip lim vest and a blue chambray alexander wang collared shirt (you can tell because the sleeves are grey). not sure about the skirt but the bag looks like lanvin. also that necklace looks like the arrowhead by pamela love.
