Saw her leaving the tents in this the other morning! Dolce, isn't it? Such a striking color and such a striking image!
The Boob Nazi
Wow. That coat would definitely make you stand out in a crowd. I love her purse with it.
February 19, 2010 at 6:22 pm
it's almost ridiculous that she can wear something like THAT and pull it off with plenty of grace and integrity.
February 19, 2010 at 6:23 pm
I love the look of the guy in the background. He has no idea what to think!
February 19, 2010 at 6:24 pm
Wow! this coat reminds me of Diana Arbus (nicole Kidman) coat made of human hair in "Fur" movie.
that coat is my dream
February 19, 2010 at 6:25 pm
Cruella lives! Not for me, but I'm so glad people like this keep life interesting.
haha, love the look on the guy's face in the back! like the sunglasses, the coat is a bit too bold for me!
I love, love, love, love, LOVE AnnaDR ! SHE IS THE GREATEST !
My favourite thing about this photo is the man in the background with the camera, and the expression on his face.
February 19, 2010 at 6:27 pm
YES I love this!!!! I love the guy behind her the look on his face is priceless!!! it's a perfect picture!!!!
February 19, 2010 at 6:29 pm
the cut had a video of her and her closet just like a day or two ago. this look was in the video. it was only time before she was photographed wearing it. funny how the video also mentioned the sartorialist
February 19, 2010 at 6:30 pm
mmm. is her jacket versace? she is the definition of fierce.
Wild, absolutely wild! Shocking and aggressive; courageous.
February 19, 2010 at 6:31 pm
Amazing! God Bless ADR!
February 19, 2010 at 6:32 pm
I love the expression on the face of the gentleman with the camera.
I adore this, I love how she is so vibrant amongst all the grey, brown and black. beautiful shot.
February 19, 2010 at 6:34 pm
My favorite part of this picture is the guy in the background sneaking a peak at her
February 19, 2010 at 6:36 pm
For me looks like a pinky Gossamer …
the expression of the man behind her with a camera is PRICELESS! as is the jacket, of course.
Looks like something out of a kids book.
I will never get tired of seeing Anna Dello Russo. Simply amazing.
February 19, 2010 at 6:37 pm

Wow, look at that color. Really popping.
This is your best shoot in the last few days, Anna foreveeerrrrrrr

February 19, 2010 at 6:41 pm
The look is fantastic – but don't forget to commemorate all Fraggles who had to die for this coat!
February 19, 2010 at 6:42 pm
The most fashionable way to stay warm in ice-cold NY… Go, Anna!
The shot is fantastic. I love it when you capture scenes like this one.
February 19, 2010 at 6:46 pm
It matches the rain thingy she was wearing the other day. She is amazing.
February 19, 2010 at 6:47 pm
I'm in LOVE!!! What a fabulous coat!
Talk about wearing a wig… on your shoulders

February 19, 2010 at 7:01 pm
A little too "I killed a Muppet" for my liking…
February 19, 2010 at 7:02 pm
So bold and confident. She's one heck of a chic lady.
for a second i thought that was wesley snipes in the background!
February 19, 2010 at 7:04 pm
She is like a magnificent exotic animal! I'm always curious to see what she is going to wear next.
February 19, 2010 at 7:12 pm
this takes balls.lots of balls.
Lovely bright burst of color! Love it
February 19, 2010 at 7:13 pm
This is amazing!
February 19, 2010 at 7:14 pm
looks like LionelSweeney's coat at NicoleKidman's TheFur!
the man on the right background looks great and his face expression is so funny :-D
February 19, 2010 at 7:15 pm
So punk, crazy look, amazing.Black and Pink it's one of myfavorites mix.FUN!
February 19, 2010 at 7:17 pm
Reminds me of Sully (monsters inc anyone?) & that's not a bad thing.
February 19, 2010 at 7:18 pm
Rarely, am I out of words. Yet, here we are…
February 19, 2010 at 7:19 pm
I just LOVE Anna, she's got the most confident attitude in all the industry. And i kinda hate the guy behind her with his what-the-hell-is-that stare…
February 19, 2010 at 7:20 pm
The guy in the background makes this shot.
I can't remember where I read about ADR where she talked about how carefully planned her looks are during fashion week. Judging by this coat and sunglasses, I think she lied.
February 19, 2010 at 7:27 pm
Wow. Just Wow.
The Plaid Hatter
February 19, 2010 at 7:32 pm
February 19, 2010 at 7:33 pm
She slightly resembles a Pixar character, sometimes too much is just too much. Hot boots though.
February 19, 2010 at 7:37 pm
I like how you have some photographer competition in the background…and how her hair and her coat both respond to the wind.
February 19, 2010 at 7:38 pm
Such a cool and fun coat! And picture! LOL at the way the guy in at the back/right looks at the coat, fun to see a real life response! (even if he's not buying…)
The facial expression on the dude with the camera are my thoughts exactly.
February 19, 2010 at 7:42 pm
the man behind has the most honest look on his face I've ever seen!!
Wow! This is stunning!
February 19, 2010 at 7:45 pm
Wow. Striking! Lol at that man's face in the background!
Haha look at the guy behind her… she looks like something from where the wild things are! I would be giving her that look too!
February 19, 2010 at 7:46 pm
bloody hell, that's not an outfit for the faint hearted!!! brave lady!!!
February 19, 2010 at 7:47 pm
She is a muppet!
February 19, 2010 at 7:48 pm
Yes love this
Never liked these monkey "fur" things. Too show biz, and not in a good way.
February 19, 2010 at 7:51 pm
WoW!That looks awesome, and the way she wears it:D"I don't care what you think, I am FABULOUS…"ahaha
P.S.And again congrats on the great shot.
February 19, 2010 at 7:52 pm
The look on the cat's face with the camera: priceless: "Wha' the…?".
Are those oversized Varnet's she's wearing?
That guy in the background is hilarious!
February 19, 2010 at 7:56 pm
I do not really like this look. The pairing of the extreme coat with the shiny boots….eh..these textures seem a bit like a lady of the night or an exotic dancer on break. Not an elegant look for a lady of her maturity.
February 19, 2010 at 7:57 pm
Ha! I love the guy in the background!
Argh, this is hard… I think. It seems like she realy wants everybody to look at her.
A Nerd Like Me
February 19, 2010 at 7:58 pm
I LOVE the look on that guy's face. Priceless. Is he secretly taking a picture of this beautiful woman?
February 19, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Shocking Pink Hair Queen♥
February 19, 2010 at 8:01 pm
Guy in the back has the best expression ever!!! His inner Ru-Paul wants to snatch that coat right off of her!
February 19, 2010 at 8:04 pm
wow! what an interesting coat. this woman is definitely more brave than I could ever wish to be…and she matched the coat with the clutch! the little details…
a lovely photograph as well; the lighting makes it seem as if she walked right out of a gate from the sky or something equally magical.
February 19, 2010 at 8:08 pm
i love your pictures…and i am so in love with these stella mc cartney boots!!!please tell me where i can find them, they seem to have dissapeared!!did i tell you i love your pictures????

February 19, 2010 at 8:09 pm
Wow, very bold!
February 19, 2010 at 8:12 pm
Wow. I mean, wow.
February 19, 2010 at 8:14 pm
How many muppets did it take to make that coat?
February 19, 2010 at 8:16 pm
She really must enjoy being noticed!
February 19, 2010 at 8:20 pm
Great picture, the fuchsia pink coat really captures the eye. However the look itself seems chaotic , and not in a good way .
February 19, 2010 at 8:25 pm
Sorry, but no
February 19, 2010 at 8:32 pm
the guy's face is really funny.I like her boots
I love the how the guy in the background is looking at her! Fabulous!

February 19, 2010 at 8:45 pm
Oh my word. That's a very "specific" look.
There's so much going on here: Fuschia-colored muppet coat, bejeweled clutch, awesome leather boots… and, is that a golf bag on the right? I've got the same expression on my face as brotha with the camera. Great photo.
February 19, 2010 at 8:46 pm
The chicest woman in the world.
February 19, 2010 at 8:47 pm
i don't like this outfit, i hate pink with a passion, but the shot is beautiful and the bravery for wearing this has to be merited. Plus what makes it for me is the guys expression in the background, he doesn't look too impressed.
February 19, 2010 at 8:49 pm
did i just see a pair of very sexy leather black OTK boots paired with a very elegant furry coat? she has an awesome style. i'd love to dress like her when i'm older.
February 19, 2010 at 8:50 pm
February 19, 2010 at 8:51 pm
oh and how funny is the guy's face in the background…
February 19, 2010 at 8:52 pm
The guy's reaction in the background is priceless!
February 19, 2010 at 8:54 pm
Love the look on the brothers face. But I'm not haven the jacket a bit to Dr. Seuss for me..
February 19, 2010 at 8:57 pm

the guy in the background… awesome.
February 19, 2010 at 9:15 pm
February 19, 2010 at 9:17 pm
One needs huge amounts of confidence to wear that, she makes it look good.
I think the best part is the expression on the man's face with the camera.
February 19, 2010 at 9:19 pm
Look at the expression of the guy in the background!
February 19, 2010 at 9:26 pm
Normally don't leave comments and I normally love her look but this is just too commical!!!

February 19, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Holy Moly thats one hell of a coat! I LOVE it! And her fabulously sparkly clutch. But what makes it all the more brilliant is her chic nonchalance contrasted with the pure intrigue on the face of the man with the camera. He seems so captured by her that he has forgotten whatever it was that he was about to photograph in the first place. Thank you for brightening the landscape.
February 19, 2010 at 9:45 pm
color caught my eye…design and style of the coat not so much…first thing came to my mind was a hot pink floormop :( sorry!
February 19, 2010 at 9:53 pm
I love it!!! The jacket is amazing and the boots and sunglasses and oh the purse!!! aww this outfit was made to be photographed and posted about.
BlendNY Designer Dresses
February 19, 2010 at 9:55 pm
Avant garde style is definitely appreciated at all times – but what really makes this picture great is the guy's face in the background holding the camera!
February 19, 2010 at 10:05 pm
The outfit is visually powerful & it takes someone w/ a strong personality to carry the look off. Yet somehow the whole thing leaves me cold. It shouts "Money. Polish. I'm so unaffected." I suppose I just prefer a little light-heartedness in fashion.
Vantage Point Vintage
February 19, 2010 at 10:29 pm
fantstic shot! i love the attitude and confidence this conveys!
February 19, 2010 at 10:33 pm
I love fashion as much as the rest of you, but someone needs to take a critical stance on this.
Not only do I dislike this look, but I think it is a failure on many levels. ADR is a savant in many ways, but this ( I think) qualifies as shock for shock's sake. Do the lines work? Ok, maybe … but the palate just kills them. Is there anything about this as an aesthetic composition that makes it transcend the elements which constitute it? Despite the shock value, the answer is no. It's bold, daring, fierce, aggressive—sure. But does it look good? Honestly, no. The lines of the glasses, shoulders, waste, and boots are interesting. But, ultimately, they don't work. ADR's stance on runway and street fashion is admirable; but this is not an example of a successful crossover.
It is important that people who give thought to this kind of thing have the courage and conviction to say: nice, but no. This is bold, but that is very different from good. And this is not that. It's bad … so let's say it without feeling guilty.
February 19, 2010 at 10:39 pm
The look of the guy in the background is priceless. Makes the picture. She looks fab as always
February 19, 2010 at 10:42 pm
lol, i'm loving the way the man behind is staring at Anna. That coat was used at an editorial but I would have never imagined it would make an appearance in public!
February 19, 2010 at 11:32 pm
February 19, 2010 at 11:39 pm
I am by no means a wallflower, but this coat requires more kahones than what I have. She looks fabulous. Her confidence is what helps her pull off this look.
February 19, 2010 at 11:46 pm
Ah, I ADORE this look! That's Dolce & Gabbana right?Looks like Cousin It got a rather fluorescent dye-job.
February 19, 2010 at 11:57 pm
love the color of her coat! amazing picture, no many ppl can pull of this look but is obvi she is one that can!
February 19, 2010 at 11:59 pm
everything about this picture is perfect
February 20, 2010 at 12:08 am
Great coat…I don't understand what the big deal is though, it shouldn't take balls to wear something like this, what's so earth shattering about a little pop of color? The funny thing is though, it is so rare to see a grown woman wear something like this that the hair and makeup she's wearing do look a bit out of place (ie, conservative) with the coat. A (subtle?) Kate Pearson beehive or an asymmetrical shaved cut and cat eye glasses or vintage ray bans might look less incongruous with this look given that…but I like it anyway.
February 20, 2010 at 12:11 am
a woman who's not afraid to stand out… is a woman who needs to be worshipped!
She looks like she stole a Truffula tree from Dr. Seuss.
February 20, 2010 at 12:20 am
Less is more!!! While I applaud her for being so bold, I don't think anyone can pull off a hot pink, gorilla fur jacket:)
February 20, 2010 at 12:27 am
She's a lovely mix of a disco queen and Sarah Leander, very sexy if you ask me……
February 20, 2010 at 12:28 am
I saw that coat hanging in her wardrobe on the New York Magazine interview film and thought holy, could anyone ever wear that? And yes, she can…
Lucy Laucht: Daily style & inspiration
February 20, 2010 at 1:04 am
I'm on the defense….. It's a great look don't get me wrong but I'm sorry I'm not hating but she's serving too much, especially for her age. It's a bold statement but she's a little too old for that look. And what's with the glasses!?!
February 20, 2010 at 1:06 am
That probably was the place and time for that coat. I hope. I love how she carries it. No big deal. It's fuchsia shock alright. The equivalent of a field of crocuses. Spring!
February 20, 2010 at 1:11 am
Absurd, unless you like pink Afghans. Are the trousers and boots borrowed from a navy Seal?
February 20, 2010 at 1:37 am
Ouch. Makes for a great pic though…
February 20, 2010 at 2:24 am
The coat makes perfect sense. The golf bag and single fairway wood, not so much.
Think we all can agree in unison that the guy in the back with the camera is the star of this shot!
:) Love his look too, and it just goes to show you (as we've all noticed him in the back of the shot) that you don't need to wear a bright gorilla coat to be noted and remembered :)
Girlfriend's way too `ol to be wearing this sort of gear.
It makes her look trashy – sorry :|
February 20, 2010 at 3:07 am
AMAZING!isn't that D&G fur from last year?!<3
February 20, 2010 at 3:20 am
dud behind her is thinking…"lady looks like big bird"
February 20, 2010 at 5:00 am
And the American Apparel spot with "Sesam street " …
February 20, 2010 at 5:21 am
Il faut oser quand même ! :p
February 20, 2010 at 6:43 am
Anna is the best!!!!…..also because she's italian like me!
February 20, 2010 at 9:42 am
Love the D&G fur coat on her. It gives her youth and the black leather boots are great.
February 20, 2010 at 10:00 am
hahah at least she looks warm
February 20, 2010 at 10:32 am
Great photo, but not feeling the coat. It looks like a very expensive Muppet, or something from Monsters Inc. Where's Giovanna when you need her?

i love this lady
February 20, 2010 at 3:48 pm
I cannot get enough of this look! From the moment I saw this coat, I associated it with her, and she is rocking it here like no other!
The ageist/sexist comments make me sad. They buy into the idea that women have an expiration date, which is awful on so many levels. Anna has earned the right to wear whatever makes her happy. And she looks good! Haters, WHATEV.
But back to this look. My favorite part is the sparkly clutch! Never change, ADR!
February 20, 2010 at 3:49 pm
February 20, 2010 at 7:23 pm
Work it girlfriend!
February 20, 2010 at 7:46 pm
OH ANA DELLOR. I LOVE HER.GREAT PHOTO!
February 20, 2010 at 8:17 pm
"Anna has earned the right to wear whatever makes her happy."
Are you familiar with the concept of marketing?
February 20, 2010 at 9:13 pm
Wh-ooo-aa!!!!! The jury's still out but—wh-ooo-aa!!!!!
February 20, 2010 at 11:04 pm
Haha, love the look the guy holding the camera in the background is giving her. Priceless.-SophiaThatbloggergirl.com
February 21, 2010 at 12:27 am
Although ADR exists to garner attention, her very M.O. is antithetical to this site. She's got the money and connections to buy and/or be gifted all the STUFF that even rich party people don't get near.
She, in effect, is a one-woman rigged game. I thought the Sartorialist was about the accessible and clever. There's nothing clever about raiding couturier houses and wearing lots of outrageous stuff.
February 21, 2010 at 2:02 am
Anna is like the embodiment of style and fashion. Pulling off hot pink outerwear without breaking a sweat… LOVE HER! She's totally the new Carine/Anna Wintour haha
February 21, 2010 at 5:51 am
dig that she just doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks! the strength & confidence just melts me ;-)
February 21, 2010 at 7:49 am
haha i love the guy in the background sneakily taking photos. Awesome coat. She has courage to wear something so bold ! Great !
February 21, 2010 at 9:00 am
This is fashion.
February 21, 2010 at 11:40 am
Such a cool look on a mature women! Love this coatThis is how I want to be!
February 21, 2010 at 12:22 pm
SUPERB.I have no words for her outfits.:DLook at the man in the back. He looks like he's thinking about taking a picture, but he seems like he actually prefers looking at her! :D
xx, Chic and Chocolate.
February 21, 2010 at 1:11 pm
I admire her confidence but I can't help but think: this is fashion, but this isn't really style. Looks like a very expensive dust mop to me.
February 21, 2010 at 1:17 pm
i love that color of pink on such a brisk day!!!! divine indeed!
February 21, 2010 at 2:09 pm
It's all about the cloths. Not about the women (anymore).
Great shot, again.
February 21, 2010 at 4:06 pm
This is a very interesting photo and it has something to say fashion and its perhaps-too-dedicated followers. But maybe that is your point.
About age, the problem I think is not the lady´s age. The problem to my mind is that the hair, jewelry, makeup, sunglasses screams conservative italian matron of a certain age and make the poor coat look totally lost. Those earrings particularly push it, in my mind at least, all the way to vulgar.
February 21, 2010 at 6:37 pm
greatest colour ever – especially in autumn/winter!
February 22, 2010 at 7:17 am
The colour, the stance, the attitude captured in one shot. The coat…Wow! I love extravagance!
February 22, 2010 at 7:59 am
Awesome coat! <3
February 22, 2010 at 8:39 am
Fantastic colour ! Now this is what I call style & daring. I really love how you captured the look on the photographer behind her (in the Easterner part of the picture).
February 22, 2010 at 9:03 am
Dear Scott, After doing research, getting to know who this lovely woman is and exactly what she does for a living, I come back with my opinion without "twisting the knife". She is without a doubt, a very hard working "devoted to everything fashion" woman. Everyday of her life is spent creating ways to bring fashion to al of us, including the everyday person. She wears the Haunte Couture beautifully and changes her look throughout the day to suit her own feelings as well as her followers. She looks great, and I apologize for being catty.
February 22, 2010 at 9:28 am
I would have loved to see how many other people had that same expression like the guy in the background…
I love the outfit!
February 22, 2010 at 11:04 am
I am NOT feeling it, and apparently neither is Dave Chappelle (jk) in the back, but what I LOVE is the sheer confidence that she exudes.
February 22, 2010 at 12:07 pm
Just another day at the "office" for ole Anna.
February 22, 2010 at 12:49 pm
the expression of the dude (with the green wristband) in the back, explains all you need to know about this outfit.
February 22, 2010 at 1:02 pm
Wow, is she brave or what? Love that coat!!!
February 22, 2010 at 2:00 pm
I love how confident she looks while wearing it. I adore the coat but know that I would be constantly worried about who was looking at me for wearing it… which would make it not so fun (for me) to wear.
Also, the blast of color is just what everyone needs in this dreary winter weather.
February 22, 2010 at 3:26 pm
This post is definitely designed to provoke. LOL
You folks who alluded to the muppets are not far off.
I agree with the commentators who feel that ADR's outfit is purely designed to shock and draw attention (which makes sense for biz reasons — definitely promotes D&G). I also couldn't say it any better than the poster who said "this is fashion, but this isn't really style." I share, too, the sentiments of a couple of posters who remarked that the "Italian matron" hairstyle and accessories don't jibe with the look. Yeh — the folks who can afford avant-garde haute couture aren't necessarily those who pull it off well.
"…A very expensive dust mop…", indeed.
February 22, 2010 at 4:25 pm
Wow. That look takes a certain swagger, which she has in spades.
February 22, 2010 at 4:28 pm
that is one freaking awesome coat!! i want it right now!!!
An Eye For Color
February 23, 2010 at 12:06 am
It's coats like this that make you wish for a bucket of electric blue paint.
February 23, 2010 at 8:39 am
I love how people actually dress like that, it's the best thing that's ever happened to us.
February 23, 2010 at 1:52 pm
This is why every human being sandwiched between NY and LA thinks NY and LA needs to grow up. That's easily the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
February 24, 2010 at 3:52 am
she sure would get attention!
sorry i really dont dig her style.

Obviously the photo needs the pink coat, but there's always got to be a second secret element that makes it; the colorful geometric reflection is like getting a glimpse at the world she lives in.
