Its the toe shape…..suddenly its totally right!

You’re so right. Though I like their shape, white Stan Smiths don’t suit me. But the year Adidas brought out color versions (1983, if memory serves a pun), I bought one in grey, and one in navy blue.

i agree: stan smiths are not for me but i would consider colourful ones (sole included pls) :)

They are indeed great-looking sneakers… wore them in high school & early undergrad. I still think they only look right with jeans (preferably faded & old) or classic cords, though, & they definitely look best when they’re old & beaten up. (I think that’s why I switched to Converse and haven’t gone back–it just takes too damn long to get the Stan Smiths looking right!)

Yup. All that pointiness must have deflated something, and now that not pointy, not round shape just does it.

I just love them! Always have and always will.
Never felt like wearing them with black socks but this girl wears them perfectly.

If those white sneakers worn with great coats are trendy, then I’m completely “out”. Down to their ankles, these ladies look terrific. Dommage……

Love the blue coat – pants too wide for this look …..
Propotions much better on the right … not sure about the shoes, though. Black Nikes would have looked better, like a shot you recently posted of a woman in NY with toque, coat, black tights or leggings, and black Nikes …
Oh, don’t mind me. I’m PMS-ing right now.

I love this kind of sneakers <3

STYLISH and true to herself, bravo!

i love the classic white sneakers, but i’m definitely more of a fan of the adidas rod laver with green soles

adidas just put out a stan smith skateboard shoe.

I’m trying to get hold of a pair but it’s impossible! I love them though xx

Love these. A bit of a retro tomboy feel always looks fly.

Really? Everyone loves these? I don’t HATE them, I’d probably wear them with nurse’s scrubs at a fancy-dress party. They look like hospital shoes to me.
Which probably explains why I don’t have a career in fashion.

I am still debating if i should get them…
April 3, 2014 at 6:43 pm
That just isn’t me, admittedly, but they look great and certainly comfortable. I’m feeling the look, but it’s probably not for everybody. It’s definitely all about balance.

The Stan Smith are so cool, and it makes the outfits more comfy

I’m really into this whole draping trend too. Just throwing scalfs on rather than styling them. I’ve seen a lot of jackets poised on shoulders rather than on properly too!

Im a huge fan of adidas originals. I had a pair of white and gold Velcro Stan smiths which I have never been able to replace. The quality of adidas Stan smiths, superstar (shell toes) etc.,seem to have gone downhill in recent times which is disappointing. The ones on the right look more like adidas forest hills in there shape. Another good choice!

i wore them back in highschool in paris in the early 80′s. with jeans. not so much for the look but for the ease and comfort of them. i have a pair now, but they aren’t as nice.

Stan Smith will never go out of fashion! This year many different styles and colors are introduced, but the OG colors are our favorites!

I totally want a pair. I’m personalizing mine on-line. So cool and so fun to be able to have your very own personalized pair! You can even write your name on the insoles…
