Very dignified style.
March 31, 2014 at 5:34 am
she’s very cool! thank you for fighting against ageism, mr. s! :)
April 3, 2014 at 7:22 am
It’s a pity age had to be mentioned, don’t you think?
I enjoy the defiantly twisted scarf and the confidence of wearing this yes-Prada-but-still-unusual-gingham-and-fur combination. It feels like like a new take on a 1950s look. Chic, neat, gorgeous.
August 28, 2014 at 8:35 pm
I don’t think she is fighting anything. That is why she is so wonderful.
March 28, 2014 at 4:11 pm
Cool lady indeed!
March 28, 2014 at 4:24 pm
She is wonderful! So chic and beautiful!
March 30, 2014 at 12:58 am
I agree with this! Regardless of whether we know her gingham and fur is prada she looks both adorable and chic.
I love this tartan!
March 28, 2014 at 5:15 pm
SO fabulous. I can only hope I have this much style one day…
March 28, 2014 at 5:20 pm
Great style is ageless. Love!
March 28, 2014 at 5:26 pm
OMG! She is wonderful. To be that striking at her age. Don’t we all wish? Wow, she is my new idol. Thanks for this, Scott.
March 28, 2014 at 6:07 pm
I really do. Such amazing cheekbones!
March 29, 2014 at 7:07 pm
Sure, but why is a woman’s age always so noteworthy? Plenty of older gents feature here too.
March 31, 2014 at 5:46 am
I suppose that is exactly the reason why: we don’t see women over fifty featured on this here blog quite as often as we see men over fifty.
I love this forty’s-but-contemporary look. It suits her well. I’m almost tempted to overlook the fur, for once… Thanks for an inspiring image.
April 10, 2014 at 8:18 pm
We don’t KNOW how old she is actually.
April 1, 2014 at 5:54 am
There are so many older men on the site, but very few older women. When there are, it’s really noteworthy. We need more so that we notice it less!
March 29, 2014 at 2:29 pm
I couldn’t agree more
March 28, 2014 at 5:31 pm
I love it when you show mature women. She is one-of-a-kind fabulous.
March 28, 2014 at 5:44 pm
Love her look!

March 28, 2014 at 5:55 pm
A beautiful woman. Style, grace and experience trump botox and surgery any day.
March 29, 2014 at 8:14 pm
Michael, I couldn’t agree with you more!
March 31, 2014 at 11:45 am
… leaves botox out in the cold!
March 28, 2014 at 6:06 pm
Lovely woman, and the coat with the grand sleeves looks so good on her!
March 28, 2014 at 6:14 pm
That. Is. Style.
March 28, 2014 at 6:15 pm
She’s beautiful! x
March 28, 2014 at 6:36 pm
She is what we would all like to be . . .
March 28, 2014 at 6:43 pm
Too heavy made up, though. Less colored cheeks … maybe it would be better …
March 31, 2014 at 11:47 am
I don’t think that this elegant lady can be improved. She is WHO she is and looks very self-assured.
March 28, 2014 at 6:55 pm
Great style. I love the way this lady wrapped her scarf leaving strands of hair showing. For some reason, she makes me think of Garbo. Very glamorously mysterious.

RESPECT! This woman, and Scott’s wonderful photograph, speak chapter and verse on the essence of what we- often too casually- refer to as “style”. Thank you both for this extraordinary and inspiring vision!

March 29, 2014 at 5:23 am
This is class. I like this lady’s style, age shouldn’t be a discriminant.
March 29, 2014 at 5:28 am
Dinner ladies at my school used to wear coats like that. Not made by Prada though!
March 29, 2014 at 5:44 am
Wow!!! What a great picture!!!!
I want to hang it on my wall!!!
March 29, 2014 at 5:49 am
March 29, 2014 at 6:08 am
This is the most stylish picture I’ve seen on your site in ages. Gorgeous. To think I almost gave up on Prada!
And I really hate it when older women dress too young. (I am “of and age.”) But this is grand style and age appropriate.

Her name is Marie Donnelly. Irish lady living in Paris.
January 2, 2015 at 4:09 pm
She’s the modern art collector, right? She is beautifully turned out, but definitely looks like someone you wouldn’t want to cross. There is a perceptible edge in her expression and posture..
March 29, 2014 at 7:31 am
Never too old to wear baby blue!
That is why I don’t believe in age appropriate clothing. If it suits you wear it with confidence and style!
March 29, 2014 at 3:04 pm
agreed ! Beautiful woman and outfit
March 29, 2014 at 7:55 am
Who is the woman any way????
She is stunning!!! And her outfit is telling a story.
And I want to know the story.
I would love to see more women dressed uniquely and stylish like that on the street.
Bravo to everybody who is bold and one of a kind like this lady!
Thank you Scott!!
March 29, 2014 at 9:56 am

March 29, 2014 at 11:06 am
She i s c o o l !
March 29, 2014 at 11:45 am
Its equally nice to see a mature woman featured, who looks beautiful (because she) and is not all botoxed and Juvederm’ed up.
March 29, 2014 at 12:19 pm
Love the Vichy coat, it reminds me of Brigitte Bardot clothes ;)
March 29, 2014 at 1:22 pm

this elegant woman, timeless, stylish and above all, amazingly nice is called Marie D, mixing humility, style, charm, generosity, intelligence, and joie de vivre. that’s the formula for elegance, Marie ticks all the boxes.

Coolest picture I’ve seen here in a while. That’s just awesome personified.
March 30, 2014 at 10:34 pm
Thank you Scott, for a great photograph of a stylish, beautiful, older woman. From the bottom of my aging heart!
March 30, 2014 at 11:34 pm

simply….elegant and charming…
March 31, 2014 at 12:03 pm
She IS awesome. But she must also be very wealthy. Maybe that doesn’t matter, after all there are plenty of extremely rich people who dress badly and of course one should always applaud such creativity, boldness and taste as this beautiful woman displays. Maybe I am envious. But I can’t help but feel it is just a little easier to look good when one has plenty of money…

she looks absolutely brilliant: comfortable & elegant
April 1, 2014 at 7:35 pm
Scott, it’s a great shot of this wonderfully stylish woman :-) and she is such a refreshing inspiration to all women.
It seems that a while ago you included many more stylish mature women on your blog, so I’m wondering if there’s now less presence of them on the street or perhaps there’s a perception that no-one is interested in them?
Ciao, Linda. xx

April 10, 2014 at 9:20 am
I like the interesting mixture of elegance, thoughtlessness and (maybe) that sort of self-mockery. I prefer this coat weared by this lady that by many young, pale and sad Prada’s models.
April 11, 2014 at 12:09 pm
everything about this lady is just so fashionable.. i <3 it
February 3, 2015 at 10:47 am

June 13, 2015 at 11:27 am
I was looking on line, for M.Kivatizky a photographer in Paris sometime in the 20′s 30′s who took a photo of my grandfather whom I never met…and this site popped up…sooo I think the woman looks beautiful…I love the outfit, I love her lipstick and the oversized glasses…the woman looks pulled together..that anyone would remark about her age, and they dont like this and blah blah blah is so American…where everyone (Iam an American) so harshly judges people…you cant please everyone…so Iam glad shes doing her own thing…good for you…and remember ageing well is the best revenge…
