This trend has come and it will go. And we shall all look back and have a good laugh.

I cannot help it. In the 1960s we had a music teacher who wore things like that (ok, no red stripes on her socks) – layered and long and a bit sad- and all of us Mary Quant and Pierre Cardin oriented girls laughed about her. These looks update that feeling for me.

Only a few can pull this off this trend. I do like the tapestry like pattern of the coat.

Shoes are great, but the socks with red stripes…?????? As with most things, you either love it or hate it.

Hmmm, not sure about “gym floor chic” but I’m loving the floral detail on the coat! http://www.madelienerose.com

I love the shoes! Love the tapestry-print coat with the skirt, too, and they look just right with the sock & shoe look–though I’d go with a solid, cuffed, & more scrunched sock.

This awful…just because it is different doesn’t make it right. If you see this again please tell them to stop.

At my son’s middle school, the uniform doesn’t include socks. So socks are the way the kids distinguish themselves. Gym socks in crazy colors and proportions. I’ll try to get some photos.
