I need to start collecting sunnies! I’ve seen quite a few in your shots that I’ve loved and I think these are very similar to Karen Walker frames! x

Some people get used to people looking at the photographer and smiling at all times, like they see in the family album. I suppose it takes a bit of getting used to to see a candid expression. Its just shocking to them, and they think that there is real distress, where there is only concentration.

          … you mean consternation? :)

Do you think? – I’m not so sure, the young lady on the right looks pretty distressed to me.
Sartorialist – having taken a shot, what is the deal? do you then ask permission to use the image?

French have always a protocol ..and that’s quite all right!!!……rsrrsrsrsrsr
            That’s intirely understandable!

            Funny faces, all right

It looks like the girl on the right is looking past the photographer. Perhaps her confusion/annoyance is directed at something beyond the camera.

For all I know, the woman on the right, Pernille, is a very famous blogger from Denmark (lookdepernille.com)- Very smiling and happy all the time, so im pretty sure its just a quick “look to the side”-photo-gets-taken kind of photo :P

But who am I to know. Great picture, a bit different from all of the others :-)

It would be nice to throw in a bit of clarification as to why you don’t like it. Express your point of view, more than just a “don’t like this photo”

LOL @ everyone freaking out because they are looking up at something. Love the outfits, and I LOVE the way you caught them looking is very interesting. Yes, its OK. Not everyone smiles at all times. How boring would it be if we did?

The outfit on the left made me rethink the way to wear a pantsuit with sneakers to break the ladylike look. Really cool and modern.
To me, what makes the outfit on the right is the mini python skirt with the high boots.
Great black and white in the Opera neighborhood.

Scott, this is a great photo!
In my opinion this is what real photography is all about.
Capturing the moment, so what if she’s not happy-go-lucky.
You caught this moment and it’s REAL.

i think the remarks about these two looking “unhappy” are silly. they are looking at something beyond the camera. i, myself, happen to have a naturally serious expression and people often assume i am upset about something when i am only caught up in my thoughts. when i’m engaged and socializing, certainly i laugh and smile. great style on both of them.
