Why does she make me think of Mary Poppins? Same sort of wholesome look, I guess, and the cape is sort of nurse-ish.

Possibly my favourite ever Sartorialist photo?
The lighting, the outfit and the pose are perfect. It reminds me of 1950s and 1960s fashion photography.
February 23, 2010 at 5:50 am
This woman looks divine in red.I would love to see more women like her walking around.

She is outstanding! She poses such a class (the class is shining on her face, she just emanates the highest level of self – confidence = pure, joyful sympathy towards herself and the "world" as such) She is on such a level of sophistication & the highest degree!!! thatIT TAKES MY BREATH! To match the aubergine dress with poppy red coat and all the rest (shoes, bag) the lenghts / patterns / of every single piece.Ajiiiiii… I LOVE HER. SHE IS MY GURU!!!

Beautiful red cape and classy lady!
February 23, 2010 at 7:45 am
Love the study in contrasts–the shape and color of her legs next to that of the balustrades, the structural softness of her coat next to the sever lines of the building. Modernity juxtaposed with antiquity. The light is perfect, she is lovely, elegant and yet approachable
February 23, 2010 at 8:06 am
That's why I love to be brazilian ….Ka
February 23, 2010 at 8:08 am
Andrea Dellal is really a wonderful woman. A classic yet exotic beauty. The red coat? No comments… It's stunning.
The shoes ruin the outfit. As simple as that. She also needs a cigarette.
February 23, 2010 at 8:23 am
Beautiful photograph Scott. This brings me back to the great fashion shots of the 50's and 60's. The cape is such a fashion classic. My mother would have sold her first born, whoops this is me, for the money to buy this cape and she would have worn the daylights out of it. This picture is a timeless shot, I love it.
February 23, 2010 at 8:25 am
Taken during the only 60 consecutive seconds of sun in London. Thank you. Great photo as usual.

February 23, 2010 at 3:28 pm
Hiya, any chance you may have gotten a close up photo of those amazing and fun heels she is wearing? They look simple enough here with the cloak but I can also imagine them as being their own little accessory if paired with an even more paired down and simple ensemble. Or know the designer of them by chance? I can do my research on this end, too. Thanks much. Lovely work.
