What a gorgeous portrait of a sikh! This looks like it could have been a painting from the 19th or even 18th century, were it not for the tailored suit. Thanks for this thoughtful image.

Beautiful wash of light grey through dark grey to black. And little pops of pure white. Lovely photograph. Lighting is superb.

He is beautiful. I find Sikh men a gloriously handsome lot.

    Beautiful and thoughtful portrait.
I just have one criticism if I may – The halo around the image of Waris – Is this a photoshop artifact, when you used a selection tool to open the image if it was too dark? Just a pet peeve as I work with photoshop everyday :)

These eyes! The attention to details and simple (yet powerful) idea of portrait with grey backdrop and no pretence makes me think of classic painting.
Most of your images capture the moment, and this series is timeless.

I only wish you shoot women for the series too))

I just adore how the veins of his hands pop out, oh-so-proudly, to underline the human aspect of this fashion icon.

This man is the quintessential example of what a modern Punjabi Sikh Aristocrat would be in a novel. He has the perfect Mughal face, eyes, and skin tone and he is chic in a cosmopolitan manner.

every picture i see of this man, whether in vogue or on this blog or whatever, shows him as the quintissential gentleman. i imagine that conversations with him would be polite, witty, and engaging – all that from how he confronts/welcomes the camera’s eye! his style is beyond reproach – classic, modern, such attention to detail, and yet there’s this quietness. lovely, lovely portrait series.

    thanks! :)
