First shot is very “Space 1999″ meets “UFO” (the UK series). The faux (hopefully) fur is fun. None of it “amazing.” Galaxies are amazing. RTW fashion is not.
Somewhat but in silhouette only. The color scheme is original as I have ever seen. Even the pinky-browns are way different, much of a cooler pink/brown then have been going around lately.
so disappointed from wang and jacobs from 2014nyfw and I love them so much. And I hate when great designers use nudity in their show (leave them to people with zero creativity, u are supposed to be the best :(
Marc Jacobs does Rick Owens? Really? This is what MJ has come up with after leaving Louis Vuitton to focus his creative energies into his own line? Sorry; I was expecting a lot more pomp and ceremony but this collection has left me yawning. As for the Rick Owens influence; that was loud and clear! Granted; there are some pieces that stand out above the rest (the fur jackets and the more lavish pieces) but overall I was bored to the point of heavy sighing and wondering if it would ever be over. To be honest Scott; it looks as though you’ve posted possibly the most interesting looks from the collection so people who haven’t yet had a chance to view the show or check the collection will most likely disagree with my comments and I would urge them, if they have the time to be put to sleep by a disappointing array of simple lounge wear, to check out this show for themselves!
The shapes, the silhouettes, the details. Colours aside; Rick Owens has definitely done extremely similar, cropped jackets, panelling and sheer details. Even the greys have been done by Rick and FYI yes Rick has done brown along with beige.
Ha ha, that’s so true! BTW the girls who’s wearing a transparent top is Kim Kardashian’s sister and there was a huge buzz about her visible breasts. Silly.

Some nice piece, quite ugly shoes and when it comes to makeup and hair Marc Jacobs is one of the best to make models look ugly. I’m probably not the only one who thinks that he’s a bit (and I stress a bit) overrated. He’s capable to make amazing collections but also others without praise or blame, but almost everybody praise them because they’re made by him.
And he always uses furs, which I totally dislike.
I have to agree with Wayde’s comments. This is the most disappointing collection I’ve seen from Marc Jacobs. Where’s the magic and whimsy? It’s nowhere to be seen. If I had to give one positive comment, I like the color palette of taupe with grey. (And it’s nice to know that my natural light eyebrow color is in style!) It’s interesting he chose Kendall for the sheer top, as I’m sure he realized that would make headlines on its own because of who she is. Marc Jacobs, you are better than this! Your talent alone should shine through the clothing. Perhaps he was trying to break from making the collection look like something he would still design if he were at LV…..I hope his next collection is better.
The first two designs are very 1960s’s Atomic Space Age. Looking forward to see how Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 line will influence the rest of the world.

That structured clutch goes perfect with your outfit. I agree with Kate Dunphy – a camel coat is a must have. The footless tights are just too cute.
I really like some pieces of the collection and also liked the colour palette. But the intire collection seen as one, was a little bit disappointed!, it seems a to be a futuristic out of space collection. So It is not my cup a tea.
I love it. i usually don’t like marc jacobs..I HATED his Liza Manelli show so much I still have nightmares. But this is GOOD. No stupid towering heels, no silly low waisted skirts…just original, wearable good stuff!!!
Marche, I was totally thinking the same thing. It’s ironic how Jacobs left LV to present a Ghesquiere-esqe collection at his own label. I loved that Balenciaga collection. That being said, I hate everything about this show. The hair, makeup, and clothes are hideous.
I like the boots, but this is a weird 60′s 1999/ 2001 Space Oddity…crossed with better left forgotten early 80′s. He must be banking on selling lots of boots…I can’t imagine many people will want to look like an extra in an old Space movie. I’m sure he’s used wool, but it all looks like double knit polyester…not nice.
Incredibly sophisticated. I loved how each look appeared to be a riff or elaboration on another look in the show. Focused and cohesive. He also picked up on the body stocking worn close to the skin with wool, cashmere or chiffon pieces “floating” over it.
I see a very very sophisticated and strong collection. Only the strong and sophisticated woman can wear or understand it for now. In five or ten years more will see it as strong and maybe even would wear it.

There was a lot of future mod all over the runway at NYFW. I’m actually curious about all of the nude tops I’ve seen.

This the worst of the 90s to me. A bland take on 60s minimalism, it’s only a short step from here to magnolia home decor…
